can you cast 'person' spells on your eidolon? it seems like that's the case from the guide i read, but i thought they were outsiders. also says that eidolon's cannot wear armor, and i couldnt find that in the rules, maybe i overlooked it.

Share Spells (Ex)

The summoner may cast a spell with a target of “you” on his eidolon (as a spell with a range of touch) instead of on himself. A summoner may cast spells on his eidolon even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the eidolon’s type (outsider). Spells cast in this way must come from the summoner spell list.

This ability does not allow the eidolon to share abilities that are not spells, even if they function like spells.

The rule about using armour is under Eidolon: Armour Bonus.

yes you can cast "person" spells on your eidolon. (They are still outsiders.)

Also, Eidolons don't go away until negative con just like people.

As for armor, I'm not sure. I don't think Eidolons can, but considering equip slots are shared, maybe they are... I doubt it, just take Improved Natural Armor and flavor your eidolon as armored.

yeah, i totally missed that. thanks guys.

I'm wondering if all the rules that would apply to the spell cast apply to the eidolon. For instance, in my game the player cast Dimension Door on his eidolon, but then wanted his eidolon to act right away, even though Dimension Door states "After using this spell, you can't take any other actions until your next turn." We talked about it and ruled that the eidolon could act but that the caster could not. I'm just not sure that was correct. Anyone have a thought on this?

That would be correct since DD specifically prevents the caster from taking any other actions. There was an earlier thread with someone wanting to set up a rogue to flank and sneak attack that covered more or less this situation. Since your Eidolon has its own set of actions, it could be DD'd and attack, same as anyone else.

Can you link to that thread Ssalarn? As it says "after using this spell..." and not "after casting this spell", I would actually believe that if you use Dimension Door on another, he cannot act. But then the caster can? ...I don't know?! What do people think? :) ...link, please :)

Well, actually I don't think it matters... The spell would state that the Eidolon doesn't get to take any actions until his next turn. Well, it don't get to take actions until it's next turn anyway (apart from immediate actions and talking), so it is irrelevant. As soon as it's turn comes up however, it get to act anyway it like.

PCs and their pets have seperate turns. Eventhough many people (including myself) take them together for ease of play, doesn't change the fact that they mechanically have different turns.

...I was thinking more generally of the spell Dimension Door. I thought for a moment that the caster could cast the spell on someone else, and not transport himself, but that's not what the spell actually says. So if you dimension door yourself and 3 other people, I guess you all "use" the spell, and therefore all of you cannot take anymore actions afterwards. I guess?

Derwalt that is how I read the spell, but to move things along (the player who made the move is a wee bit of rules lawyer and the game can bog down), but I wanted to get some opinions from some 'experts'.
