The rules are pretty clear that when a spontaneous spellcaster attaches a metamagic feat to a standard action spell, it becomes a full round action.
However, how does that work with Cold Ice Strike (I don’t know of any other swift spells)? Does it also make it a full round action? Does it upgrade one step up (i.e. a standard action) or does it not change the casting time at all?

Well, whaddya know? It doesn't actually say. It doesn't even phrase it as a default, like "all spells take a full-round action unless they normally take longer"; it specifically says that standards are converted to full rounds. Swifts are completely unmentioned.
Hm. It's possible that at the time, there weren't any swift action spells that you'd ever want to metamagic. So I dunno. I guess that means it needs errata, so I'll click the FAQ button on your post, and I encourage others to do the same.

Thanks Jiggy.
I only just received my first 3rd level spell, but I was looking ahead for my character and thought about taking Cold Ice Strike. It’s not as a big of deal for me as I can just ask Sean or Jason at GenCon, and I know I wouldn’t have 6th level spells by that point.
However, it would be nice to get it clarified (FAQ’d) for all.
