Nah i was thinking it would just replace the level 8 specialist power like so.
Edilon: This replaces Dimensional Steps. The Conjuror gains an edilon as a Summoner of the wizaeds level -7 just as if she were a summoner. However the Summoner dosenot share the lifeling trait that a Normal Summoner and her Edilon enjoy. One this summoned creature is called or dismissed it cannot be called again for 24 hours.
1/day thing I did this so it didnt take to much flavor from the summoner as i think wizards have some damn fine buffs compaired to the summoner.

Okay, so, a friend and I were talking about this and we've got this figured out.

Eidolon Subschool
Associated School: Conjuration.
Replacement Powers: The following school power replaces the dimensional steps power of the conjuration school.
Lesser Eidolon: At 8th level, you can trade your familiar for an Eidolon, as the Summoner class feature of the same name. Treat the Eidolon's level as your Wizard level -7, or Wizard level -4 if you have the Improved Familiar feat. You do not benefit from any other Summoner class features, such as life link or bond senses.
