Dice Tower. Is it legal?

Pathfinder Society

I am curious as to whether a Dice Tower would be allowed in Society Play. I'm guessing yes, unless it becomes distracting.

What's a Dice Tower?

I know of no where where it is prohibited , so I would guess it's allowed. (IMHO)

You're not going to find an official ruling here, unless someone important chimes in. Things like that are left to GM discretion. But yes, until it becomes distracting is probably a safe assumption ;) And each GM is going to feel differently about it.

a box for randomizing a dice roll. drop the die in the top, it rattles thru the box, and pops out the bottom - often in a small tray.

Table etiquette is the purview of your GM. Things like what to do with dice that are rolled off the table, or how much space you can spread your stuff out on, or if it's okay to use a dice roller.

There aren't PFS specific rules for these issues because it's a table issue, not a rules issue.

Nice! Not enough people use that site. ;)

Ironically, though, what it ended up bringing me to was a website called DiceTower that has nothing to do with dice towers. :/

Anyway, as others have said, it'll be GM's preference. There are probably some who think it's not random or have some other gripe with it, so be prepared to roll on the table instead.

I've personally only seen one once, and no one seemed to take issue with it, but YMMV.

There are no rules on how you roll your dice. Roll them as you want to.

The Exchange 5/5

the only arguement I have ever seen over the use of a tower was two players who both wanted to use it - and really didn't want to share.
The judge ended up takeing it away from both...
(the guy own owned it wasn't there...)

(rolls eyes): some people just shouldn't game...

Thanks for the replies.

I was thinking of maybe making my own dice tower, painting it like a boot, and calling it Snake's Boot (our region's mascot is a goblin gunslinger named Snake. Thumbs up if you can guess which.)
