My son's 10th birthday is coming up, and as has already played a bit, he would really love a roleplaying birthday party. So I got the Beginner Box, as his friends are not experienced.
Now, how long does the adventure take to run in the box? I have roughly 2 hours, and the feeling, that won't be enough....
As there are 4 shorter adventures, can 2 of them be easily combined, and which one would you recommend?
Thanks for any help and if you have any further sugestions - wonderful! I thought to use the pre-gens, and throw the barbarian into the mix as well. Any other classes which would be suitable to add?
Whilst you could possibly complete the Black Fang adventure in 2 hours, I think it will feel rushed and you would be better served taking your time with it. I would suggest doing the shorter 1-hour adventures. Out of the four, my favourites were Ruins and Terrors.

Where are these "other" four adventures? I bought the BB and only see the solo adventure and the black fang one.

Will take a close look at the adventures, for sure, thank you for the information. As there will be probably 6 kids, I need to convert at least one more class to Beginner's Box and create a pre-gen. Which one would you recommend?
I thought about
Druid (kids will love the pet)
Ranger (woodman is cool)
Paladin (the good hero)
Sorcerer (easy to play, esp., with arcane line and a familiar rat as arcane bond)

The kids would like the druid. My son played a halfling druid with a deinonychus animal companion. The moment my nephew heard that dinosaurs could be companions or familiars, he decided to play a Wayang witch with a compsognathus familiar.
