New PFS GM question

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Is there anything 'wrong' with the approach of:
a.) Being liberal in interpreting the intent of the PFS missions instead of the letter of what the module says the player must do when awarding prestige?
b.) Saving time (in which the players would otherwise loot bodies) in the game by letting the players know I will give them max gps?
c.) Like 'b', give them access all items for their tier even if they didn't find all of them?
d.) If needed, shorten an encounter (cut a room, monster, etc.) in order to help the PCs reach the final encounter by the 4 hour mark at PaizoCon?

These are all little DM/GM cheats which are not 'wrong' in a personal game. But are they 'wrong' in an official PFS game?

For me, having fun and finishing on-time are vital for a Con game and the above cheats can significantly help with that.

That being said, as a PFS GM I feel obligated to obey the letter of the rules of the game and the scenario as written.

Comments?

Looks like i can answer my own questions: In reading other posts, I can see that yes it would be wrong to do those cheats.

I'd like to add in response to D:

Many scenarios have an "Optional Encounter" which will tell you to go ahead and skip it if you're low on time. The people creating scenarios know that sometimes these scenarios play longer or shorter depending on who's playing.

Don't forget that 3 monster enounters are minimum.

I honestly don't remember ever seeing this requirement. I remember that Mark said that he's trying to get a good blend of activity in a scenario.

Perhaps he's referring to how a lot of scenarios lis the completion of at least 3 encounters as the requirement for "completion" and getting a chronicle?

That would make sense, since most scenarios have 5 "encounters" and some with "optional" further "encounters".

The guide (at least old versions, not sure if it is still stated i nthe newest version) says you need to complete three encounters to gain XP for the module. (I think its in the death section, a character who dies without completing 3 encounters does not get XP).

Yeah its from GM section under "Filling out a Chronicle Sheet" topic.
"A PC may only receive XP if he survives the scenario or is raised from the dead by the scenario’s conclusion and completed at least three encounters over the course of the adventure."
It doesn't really say that you need 3 encounters but I always had the feeling it does.
