Things are going incredibly well. I have never been happier in my life. I didn't know that it was possible for me to be truly happy. I'm adapting to the estrogen. I'm taking voice therapy lessons. I'm learning all the skills that girls learned when they were younger, like hair and makeup, and I'm actually getting better. I feel more confident shopping alone. I feel like I have a future.

I don't know if anyone remembers, or if I even mentioned it, but about a year ago something amazing happened.
I'm in a bariatric group on Facebook and they are also a 501(c)(3) charity. They have more than 16,000 members. We got to vote on a bunch of different categories. I am the only member to win in two categories. I won Most Inspirational and Sexiest Woman. Everyone knows that I am a transwoman and at the time, I hadn't really started my transition. They chose to award me both of these honors.
Next month I am flying out to Atlanta to accept both awards. It's a formal affair. There will be all kinds of things going on. I will be giving a short acceptance speech. (I have no idea how long it needs to be or what I will say yet.)
I was told that there will also be a bariatric magazine there and they want to interview me specifically. They are interested in my unique journey of being a transgender person also dealing with a bariatic lifestyle along with the near-death experience. They want to use me to help others. They are also talking about putting me on the cover.
It's not certain yet that I will be interviewed at all and if I am I may not be chosen to be on the cover. I'm still in shock at all of this.
I will be staying with one of the admins out there. She has a pool so I will probably get the chance to swim as myself. I have not had that opportunity yet. I will be wearing a gown for the first time. I will also be getting my hair and makeup done professionally for the event.
I honestly never thought that I would be accepted for who I am, and now I am trying to deal with the emotions that are telling me that I don't deserve this. I know that I do because I didn't choose it. They did. This level of love and acceptance are overwhelming for a girl who has not had even a sliver of this a few years ago.

I forgot to add that it's expensive to do all of this. I am accepting donations from people who want to help me. I'm not asking for a lot so please don't feel obligated to send any amount at all or if you do I don't need a lot. I am trying to raise $200 so I can make sure I have a nice gown, shoes, and to afford my makeover. I have already raised $130. If anyone wants to donate, please let me know and I will give you my email so you can PayPal or Venmo. I know that it's often in bad form to ask for this so please know that I am not trying to cross any lines with anyone by doing this.

Thanks. I've been really debating different styles. I got things down to these ones from the more than 20 I had originally looked at. I'm hoping that this Sunday or Monday I can get in to David's Bridal and have them help me try things on and explain different styles and why some work for me why others don't. Then I can start really getting more focused.

OK, this one is going to be tough.
Are there any f2m transgender people here?
I'm asking because in that weird real-life thing, I have come to know a couple of transgender people and they represent both ways the transition goes.
But as I read this forum for over 10 years and participate in several Pathfinder-related Facebook groups/fanpages, I get this weird (and perhaps entirely false) idea that the m2f transgender folks are left, right and center, while f2m people are nowhere to be seen. Of course, I'm basing it on me noticing people who are upfront and public about the fact (such as is the case with many of you in this thread).
So, am I seeing things, are m2f gals more public about being trans or is for some reason one group more represented in the hobby?

There are some studies that show that the male to female population is higher than the female to male. It's about 3 to 4 times higher. My guess is that it has to do with genetics and society.
I think that the reason it seems that transwomen are more upfront about it is because they need to be. A woman who dresses like a man is just a tomboy or butch. A man who dresses like a woman is a target for being a sissy and more. It doesn't matter if we are trans to some people, this is how they will see things.
Remember also that the trans population is actually tiny compared to the cis population.

I am not sure how to otherwise introduce myself here so I'm just going to go for it:
Hi! I'm Eddie, I'm a Cis/Gay Male from Denver, I've played Pathfinder on and off for the past 3 years (though at the moment I'm out of a game), a fun fact about me is that I can play the Tuba, and what's going on in my life is that I just dropped my brother off at the airport after he visited me for the weekend, only to discover when I got home that he left his school jacket in my closet.

My Brother is a physically active teenager with the metabolism of a an athlete, while I'm a only kind of active diabetic. I wish I could fit into his jacket. I am sending it out tomorrow but also am going to have him pay me for postage.
And thank you for the luck! Going to try to rope in some coworkers if I'm able.

Good call on charging him with the postage.
And you just arrived in time to hear me announce some good news...
So Friday is my friend's birthday party. I have decided to go fully presenting as female. She is a good friend and is very supportive and helpful. More than anybody else I know (well outside of these forums) so I think I will feel the safest.
I hope everything goes well and I don't get cold feet.

If anyone wants to watch me walk down the red carpet and get VIP treatment during the awards ceremony, here is the link. I will be giving a speech on Learning to Be Me.
Just a head's up though. It is $25 for access, but the money goes to the charity. I don't know when I will be presenting yet. I do know that it's happening on March 22. That's a Saturday.

I'm actually thinking about saving up for a euphonium just so I can make sure that side of my brain doesn't get rusty.

My wife and I have slowly been working our way through it (slowly because when the depression/anxiety hits, the last thing she wants is an FPS). It's very good! If you enjoyed the previous ones, it plays like something between 1 and 2 (that is to say, not as chaotic as 2, while being less "find cover or die" than 1 often was). Lots of little improvements that feel a lot better and smoother, as well.
And, as has becomes the series custom, lots of LGBTQ+ rep, body positivity, etc.
