This is what I wish to know: As shipping up to Alaska takes so long, might I ask that the Pathfinder RPG Race Guide be held till I can pick it up in person at PaizoCon? Believe it or not, I would actually get the book sooner this way.

Unfortunately, it is still too early to be able to answer questions about subscription pickup at Paizocon. Once we have made the announcement about subscription pickup, I will be able to make a call on the feasibility of this. I can only answer in general right now.
The answer, in general, is that we can only have convention pickup of the specific subscription items being released at the time of the convention. Otherwise, there is far too much opportunity for your order to be lost/misdirected/overcharged/not charged/double-charged/double-shipped/eaten by a grue/mistaken for a giant slug and salted/used a portal to Narnia/apparated/disapparated/reapparated/fed to the golem/used as target practice/mistaken for Jason Bulmahn and destroyed by my killbots/presented with flowers/drank, somehow/given to the undeserving/shredded/beaten/pureed/julienned/fried/served with some fava beans and a nice chianti/munched/Munched and screamed at/fired from a cannon/fired at a cannon/billeted/keel-hulled/decked/shellacked/sent to Siberia/sent to Sebastian/used for a ridiculously long and not very funny joke/sunk/read and enjoyed by someone who is not you, or even sent to Alaska. That last one probably wouldn't be to terribly bad, given other possibilities, actually.
As soon as we have it worked out, we will be letting everyone know what items will be available for convention pickup.

I figured I was jumping the gun on this. I vaguely recall there being announcements closer to the Con regarding which subscription products are available for pick up. I'll just have to be patient.
Obviously I am eagerly awaiting this book!
