Looking for ways to handle a Mirror Maze

Sczarni RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16

Good afternoon!

I'm looking for ideas on how to incorporate a mirror maze into my game, without it being frustrating for the players. Of course, having the PCs roleplay it out will be really un-fun ("I turn left." "You run into a wall."). Drawing out a maze doesn't really have much appeal, since the players can probably solve it pretty easily, and half the point of a mirror maze is that you don't actually know where the walls are, and where there are just mirrors.

Do any of you have any suggestions for ways to introduce a puzzle like this to the game without bogging things down or causing players to be frustrated?

Thanks!

Intelligence checks, dc 15, if they make it they realize where the next turn is. If they don't make it they can't figure it out that turn. Add that into making it an actual maze with wrong turns and dead ends (dc 15 to realize you've ran into a dead end and you need to go back) throw in a few traps, a mirror of opposition at the very becoming or very end or a minotaur some where in there and call it one big dungeon that once completed dissevers experience points. Honestly if the fighter type is worth his weight he'll start smashing things from the get go and make finding their way through 10 times easier. If they choose to do things that way then reward them for thinking of a way to defeat the maze with extra experience at the end, and throw some grease squares in there to make them slip, fall on broken glass, and take some damage just so its not a complete cake walk for them.

Oh and if they come against the big baddie while the mirrors are still intact around him then I would treat it as if he had mirror image up

Toss in some hefty mods to Perception while stumbling around -- hard to tell if that reflection is the armored titan in the party or an armored titan coming FOR the party.

PS: Make the mirrors illusions covering stone walls to prevent the 'smash through the maze' "solution."

PPS: Joegoat has a good, quick way to run the maze.

PPPS: Be sure to toss in illusory mirrors over open spaces in the walls, with some shifting wall traps to split up the PCs... if you're feeling malicious. ;) And 'Labyrinth' style openings hiding parallel corridors, etc.
