Old Gamer, New Tricks

Beginner Box

I really want to thank you Paizo! I am an old school player who started with The Fantasy Trip and moved to the Red Box and continued to play until D&D 3.

A bunch of my friends and co workers started playing Pathfinder and have really gottetn me interested, but real life makes it hard to get into a regular gaming session. Plus, where do you jump in? There are so many books and it's hard to know where to start after the Core Rules book.

Then along comes the Beginner Box! Perfect!

The best part is: We had 3 generations of gamers playing together. My pop used to play with me during the Red Box days, and the Black Box is perfect for my 11 and 13 year olds to jump in. Last week my dad and my children and I played our first session together. It was great, new and nostalgic all at the same time.

Thanks again Paizo!

Your dad role-plays with you? Lucky!

I agree about the BB. I started with the Red Box 30 years ago (yikes!) and I found the BB a great way to get back into GMing.

I also started out with the D&D red box, around 31 years ago when I was in seventh grade. I play black box with my 9 year old son and 10 year old nephew every weekend now, if we're lucky. I just started them out on their first real campaign last weekend.
Thank you, guys.
