Beast Fury Barbarian Archetype (Homebrew)

Homebrew and House Rules

I wanted to get some opinions on a new archetype I came up with for the Barbarian. This archetype replaces the Barbarian's Rage class feature with the Beast Fury Class feature.

Beast Fury:(gained at 1st Level)
+4 Str.
+4 Con.
+2 Natural Armor.
+10 Speed.
Bite Attack +1d4.
Claw Attack +1d6.
Scent.
Darkvision 60ft.

Full Round Action to activate.
Loses ability to use weapons and Armor.
Loses ability to speak.
Exhausted after Beast Fury is ended for a number of rounds equal to 2 times the number of rounds Beast Fury was active.
Can be used a number of rounds per day equal to 4+con mod, +2 rounds ever level gained after 1st.
Replaces Rage class feature
Beast Fury Barbarian loses Fast Movement class feature.
Beast Fury Barbarian loses Medium Armor Proficiency.

Greater Beast Fury:(gained at 11th level)
+6 Str.
+6 Con.
+4 Natural Armor.
+20 Speed.
Bite Attack +1d6.
Claw Attack +1d8.
Darkvision 120ft.

Standard Action to activate.
Gains ability to speak.
Fatigued after Beast Fury is ended for a number of rounds equal to 2 times the number of rounds Beast Fury was active.
Replaces Greater Rage class feature.

Might Beast Fury: (gained at 20th level)
+8 Str.
+8 Con.
+6 Natural Armor.
+30 Speed.
Bite Attack +1d8.
Claw Attack +1d10.

Move Action to activate.
Replaces Might Rage class feature.

I should point out that the idea is that you remain humanoid but just become sort of like a beastial humanoid.

sort of like a werewolf but not.

What beast features would be available? With claws I'd imagine most predator species but not a lot of prey species - even ones like boars which don't exactly go down without a fight.

I don't know, I hadn't thought about that. would you have any suggestions on how to handle that? Do you I should do it differently?

I think the Beast Fury archetype would probably drop the Indomitable Will class feature seeing as how Beast Fury does not grant a bonus to Will saves.

bump, I feel like I need some input on this one.

Well since the person is loosing the ability to speak and getting a bite attack, you could make it where the person's head changes into whatever animal. For the attacks you could put in a gore attack or hoof attack instead of bite or claw damage in case of boars or hooved animals.

Depending on how you see this working, as the character advances, this might turn into a very limited form of wild shape or the character just might get furrier and end up anthropomorphic (eventually regaining the ability to talk the way moment of clarity works).

Totem Barbarians might be worth looking into: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm

Spirit Warrior might also work: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/extras/community-creations/cartmanbeck-s-lab/multic lass-archetypes/spirit-warrior-barbarian-druid
