Is is worthwhile to take a level of fighter when building a lvl 10 synthasist for the martial weapons and the extra feat. The character will be the front liner and replace a zen archer that disapeared when my computer died. The rest of the party is a fighter archer, a sorcerer, an inquisitor, and a rogue.

Disregard fighter, takes levels in monk. :P
But seriously, if you have a feat in mind for the fighter level, go ahead. If you don't, I would go with monk for the free WIS to AC.
Well, there are any number of combat feats that would help the synthasist, as well as I like the idea of using lots of weapons.

NO!
Level 10 is 4th level spells. You really kinda want those :). And stat points are good too, as are more evolutions
Monk does offer more; most Eidilons want either Dragon Stance or Improved Trip (Quad vs Eidilon). +2 to all saves and about +3 to AC is gravy.
But in general, stunting Eidilon isn't even worth all of this (though it is quite close).

I find that the benefits for fighter start showing up with weapon training and the fighter only feats at higher fighter levels. Plus your eidolon-side can get martial weapon proficiency on its own. But I am very opinionated so there's my 2 cents.
Does anybody know if there is a ruling about whether I would need to first spend the points to get simple weapons (which I can aparently us already) or can I just go straight to adding martial weapons.

Stupidly, if you want to evolve it you have to buy simple first. Be a half-elf (best synths anyway, well arguably 2nd to dwarves) and take ancestoral arms to get the exotic weapon of your choice (even better than martial proficiency).
Are you looking to make a many-arm multi-fighter? If so the Kukrita (sp?) is the best weapon, especially when you take improved crit @ 11. What are you wanting to do with this guy?

Planning on half elf. I am trying to figure out if I want to mess with weapons, esp since I will be large. My am playing with the build, but I am going for a Captain Marvel feel. If I use weapons, I want something with reach.

If you're a large sized biped, ALL of your weapons effectively have reach (you naturally have 10 foot reach, and for 1 evolution point can make your arms all have 15 foot reach).
So a Billy / Captain Marvel feel, but large and weirder with Billy showing inside a transparent CM? Hmmm; that one is tough; I'm guessing an electric energy longspear, though that is too expensive for your level.
Regardless, at most just take the weapon proficiency with the weapon you want... don't spend evo points or take fighter levels.

I am thinking that is best.
