Multiple bleed effects and healing

Rules Questions

I'm trying to figure out some things about bleed damage and got confused. It starts with the different explanations in the official PRD and the D20 PFSRD:

PRD wrote:
Bleed (Ex) A creature with this ability causes wounds that continue to bleed, inflicting additional damage each round at the start of the affected creature's turn. This bleeding can be stopped by a successful DC 15 Heal skill check or through the application of any magical healing. The amount of damage each round is determined in the creature's entry.
D20 PFSRD wrote:
A creature that is taking bleed damage takes the listed amount of damage at the beginning of its turn. Bleeding can be stopped by a DC 15 Heal check or through the application of any spell that cures hit point damage (even if the bleed is ability damage). Some bleed effects cause ability damage or even ability drain. Bleed effects do not stack with each other unless they deal different kinds of damage. When two or more bleed effects deal the same kind of damage, take the worse effect. In this case, ability drain is worse than ability damage.

1. I assume the PFSRD is wrong and it doesn't have to be a spell, any magical healing will do. So if you get healed through positive energy channeling, bleeding is stopped?

2. If a monster with bleed 1D6 hits you twice, the bleed damage doesn't stack. Does this mean on your turn you suffer simply 1D6 bleed damage, or do you roll 1D6 two times and suffer the higher result?

3. Is one healing effect or skill application enough to end all bleed effects you're suffering from? What if they're from different sources (monsters)?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Excellent questions.

If someone finds RAW answers I'll defer to them.

As a GM I would allow any magical healing to stop bleed effects.

Just for the sake of simplicity I'd probably say the bleed effect "doesn't stack" so the second d6 simply doesn't effect the target, so you still roll 1d6, not two and take the highest.

I would say it didn't matter where the bleed effects came from. Magical healing would stop them all.

I'll take a stab at this

Bleed

A creature that is taking bleed damage takes the listed amount of damage at the beginning of its turn. Bleeding can be stopped by a DC 15 Heal check or through the application of any spell that cures hit point damage (even if the bleed is ability damage). Some bleed effects cause ability damage or even ability drain. Bleed effects do not stack with each other unless they deal different kinds of damage. When two or more bleed effects deal the same kind of damage, take the worse effect. In this case, ability drain is worse than ability damage.

1. From what I've read, RAW channel does not count. RAI, probably but idk.

2. I have not seen anything official about this. Either is probably acceptable, I imagine most people would roll one die and use that.
Personally, I'd treat it like disease, if you're already afflicted, additional applications don't trigger another roll. (Once you have a 1d6 bleed applied, you don't apply another)

3. Any single healing spell should stop all sources of bleed.
As for a skill check, I'd probably add +2 to the DC for every bleed after the first(which would be the 1 at the highest DC). The roll would determine how many bleeds were stopped.

Had you found this thread?

http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/paizoPublishing/pathfinder/pathfinderR PG/rules/differentTypesOfBleed

So #1 is probably anything that restores HP, which includes channel.
But if you notice, the difference between the 2 you listed is beastiary vs CRB. I'm not sure which is the primary source, but I'd think CRB, and that's the one that excludes channel.

I think I skipped that thread, thinking it was about different types of bleed damage (attribute vs hit points). Guess it's even less clear than I thought.

I also didn't realize the difference between the quotes is Bestiary vs CRB. I assumed the D20 PFSRD was paraphrased and an error had slipped in. My bad. Now I'm not sure if I should consider the CRB the primary source for this (and all) rules, or assume this actually got clarified in the later product, the Bestiary.
