Aroden's church was also essentially the state religion of Taldor and Cheliax, two of the biggest empires the Inner Sea has ever known.
And there are bound to be some... let's call them "parties of interest" who might like to see it restored (or at least developed into another piece on the chessboard... even a pawn is useful material in larger stratagem). (my take)

Whiskey Jack: makes sense to me!
Erik: Always a pleasure to hear the designer of Aroden remind me that I've still got to learn stuff! (So, wanna tell us more, now, about that stuff? Pleeeeeeeaaaaaase?)
Also there's that whole shadowy minion of Pharasma who looks strangely like Aroden and all...just throwing that out there :P
You mean ol' "Echo of Lost Divinity", who looks, sounds, feels, and in all other ways is like an incorporeal Aroden and just happened to appear and being serving Pharasma shortly after Aroden's death? Never heard of 'im.
...
Also he's totally not Aroden. No sir. Totally. Not. Aroden. He says so himself!
...
... at least, so I'd imagine, if I were imagining such things, which I'm not saying I am, as I've never heard of this particular creature. :)
