Fabricating a Home.

Rules Questions

New day, new questions!

Okay guys- I want to know if the Fabricate spell can justifyingly build a small house.

Assuming I had the materials of course.

Yes, provided that you had the materials. However, I would most definately require my players to make a Craft (carpentary) check in order to do so; and perhaps a Craft (masonry) check, depending on if the character wants a stone fireplace, walls, foundation, etc., etc. However, it would only construct the house and not any furnishings, nor would it fabricate glass panes for the windows or doors. Those are all seperate objects.

And I would not allow the spell to dig out a basement or root cellar. The character would have to do that beforehand. But he could floor it, create the walls, support beams, and ceiling, certainly.

I'd probably require multiple castings for each of the different skills needed.

Yes, and on second thought, I would require a Knowledge (Engineering) check prior to casting the spell.
