Gamer Connection

Dark Archive

Hello everyone, as we near February 16th, our list continues to grow on players signing up.

(Are you a GM? We need you at MegaCon2012! See how to get a free pass/hotel room to MegaCon2012 after the player section!)

FOR PLAYERS:
So far, we have almost 55 people signing up, and we expect over 160 players to sign up by time we close Pre-registration on February 10, 2012. Purchase a MegaCon2012 pass online and get RPG gaming for free!

To signup:
- Order a ticket online through http://www.megaconvention.com . You will get an email in your inbox that gives your confirmation number and receipt number.
- Sign up for an account on http://www.warhorn.net/megacon-2012 . Use the same email you used to purchase your ticket.
- Forward your receipt email to MegaCon2012@Imper1umDesigns.com , and we will clear you online so you can sign up for tables.
- After you are cleared, go to the schedule and sign up your characters!

This year, we will have PFS, LFR, GENESYS, 3.5 SASG, and LSJ gaming. Check out the schedule.

FOR GMS:
Want to go, just can't afford the ticket pricing? Then don't! The RPG room needs GMs to run tables, and we offer incentives for GMs that sign up.

  • Sign up for 2 slots (or 8 hours of GM) and get a free day pass of your choosing.
  • Sign up for 4 slots (or 16 hours of GM) and get a free full weekend pass.
  • Sign up for 8 slots (or 32 hours of GM), and get a free full weekend pass AND a free hotel room*.

* At the Convention Hotel. You may be paired with other GMs. You must be at least 18 years of age or older and provide a valid government photo id to get the free hotel room.

If you wish to GM:
- Sign up for an account on http://www.warhorn.net/megacon-2012.
- Email MegaCon2012@Imper1umDesigns.com with which modules you wish to GM.

Thanks, and I hope to see many of you at MegaConvention2012 RPG Room!

Bump. We accidentally raised a dead 2011 thread for MegaCon 2012. Let's see if this generates some interest.

Lantern Lodge

Yeah, I was kind of surprised to see a thread for MegaCon2011 and not one for MegaCon2012. :)

Dark Archive

It caught me too.

We have a lot going on, and I am busy making devilish stat blocks for Short Attention Span Gaming. I may have a surprise coming...

Dom, I wanted to ask you about the Short Attention Span Gaming... what game system are you using for that? (or is it a mixture of several?) I am a little curious how much you can get into in an hour... do the scenarios feed into each other? (i.e. if someone plays for an hour, and decides to stay at the table for another hour, does the scenario continue from where it "ended"?)

Dark Archive

SASG is any game system, we have 4e, PFRPG, Traveller, Arcainis, and some other systems. The requirement is they have to be 50 minute scenarios with pregens. I ask that people have a blurb or short description.

Each scenario is stand alone. I have been toying with linked scenarios, but one hour chunks isn't enough to develop a plot.

Lantern Lodge

So, you have pregen characters or we make our own? I have a handfull of 4e characters that I planned out for LFR (and not-LFR) that I would love to see how they do.... :)

Also: WotC disagrees with you about not being able to tie 1-hours sessions together into a plot ... ever hear of Encounters? Personally, I don't like them, but there are lots of people on the Wizards forums and elsewhere who do like them.

Wayfinders

Sorry about the undead post on 2011 Megacon. You mortals and your 'calendar years' and such....

Bump. Two weeks to go! I may have to try the Traveller SASG. Any cool updates? Also, I had heard that there would be a shuttle between Doubletree and the convention site... is that true?

Wayfinders

Bumpity-bump. Only one week to go!

I see your bump and raise. ;-) Should be an awesome con.

Dom is still looking to add more GMs for MegaCon. Send him a pm if you are interested in helping out.

Yup. :-) I think he is also looking for LFR (Living Forgotten Realms) GMs too.

I sent him a PM at like ten, but haven't heard anything. I haven't played 4th ed at all so cannot do LFR.

Dom is busy, busy, busy, as you might imagine with the con only a few days away. I do know that he needs more GMs, especially peeps who could run any of the First Steps scenarios. I will send him an email and let him know that you are interested.

See you at MegaCon!

Only a few more days until Megacon! I love short work weeks and long gaming weekends...

Can't wait to see everyone there.

Should be a lot of fun... I am looking forward to it myself. :-D

Question... the Megacon website says the Advance Ticket window opens at 10am today (Friday) but I am scheduled for a game at 9am. How am I supposed to get in to get to my game if I cannot get my ticket?

Undrhil,

Sorry this answer has arrived too late for you (I was occupied with MegaCon by Friday and not checking the boards), but you could have come to your event at 9am and as long as you could present a printed ticket, you could have played.

I hope things worked out for you in the end,
WJ
