The best music for gaming

Music & Audio

I like High on Fire to set the mood. Amon Amarth for battles and Homlet from Atari's Temple of elemental evil for traveling.

Mercedes Lackey filk music for making characters. LotR soundtrack for the background music (for online games, I'n hard of hearing).

midnight syndicate, conan OST, baldur´s gate OST, and the like

Dead Can Dance. I've used 'The Host of the Seraphim', 'Rakim' and 'Yulunga' for a dark atmosphere in the past.

Sovereign Court

Neo classical, symphonic metal... melodeath/viking metal sometimes

I love to buy movie soundtracks. If its got its own music, its pretty fun to play it in the middle of something. I remember we were fighting a wiz in his demiplane, and we started playing the inception soundtrack. It was tight. Plus soundtracks are pretty cheap on itunes.

Wrexham: I'm a big fan of "Dead Can Dance" too also "This Mortal Coil" and "18 Angels."

Sound tracks from fantasy games also work well as background music for gaming.

I like the songs at this site too: Gaming Music.

This particular song is a good one: Heroic Journey.
