I am Doodlebug Anklebiter, the Dungeon Master of Death.
So, we ended our game on a tragic note with the death of poor Elzbeth.
In between his mournful sobs, Viorec escorts the party back to the Kriegler Estate (the mayor's house) and informs you that a peasant militia has been formed that will watch over you guys while you sleep. I'll remind you that after you have slept for 8 hours, ka-ching!, you'll level up!
What do you do?

Doodlebug Anklebiter |

Good to see you Dok and she-who-was-once Elzbeth. I was going to say you didn't have to roll them here, but it looks like you got good rolls, so cool.
What race are you thinking of? Like I said, Aaron's making a gnome, so the party's got lots of tiny people running around.
So, cool, you guys found the thread pretty quick. I haven't told Dan yet about this thread and he went to spend the weekend with Ashley's family, so it might be a couple of days before this really gets rolling.
Unless Lodi does something really stupid (which I'm not saying isn't a possibility), you can sleep in for 8 hours uninterrupted. Ka-ching! Level up!

Read up on the falconer--pretty cool. Possible backgrounds could include: serving as a scout for the County of Canterwall (the part of Ustalav you guys are in) in its constant vigil against the orcs of Belkzen; a scout watching over Gallowspire (the prison-fortress of the Whispering Tyrant which is actually not that far away from where you are in Ravenmoor); a cashiered soldier of Lastwall (which is what Tramora is); or anything else you come up with.

Avianna Silverplume |

I'm thinking that I've been a scout for the County of Canterwall. The news about the Whispering way that the party gave to the Royal Accuser peaked some official's interest and I've been pulled from my normal duties to assist the party in their investigations. They also want Weekly updates as to the progress. (A falconer has an easy way of staying in communication with whomever hired her using the bird companion.)
Sound good?

Doodlebug Anklebiter |

That sounds fine, but I'm not sure that the party is actively investigating the Whispering Way.
But they certainly will have provoked official attention by clearing Harrowstone and unearthing the cult of Ghlaunder in Ravenmoor in a matter of what? days?
Also, I just posted Elzbeth's obituary in the Carrion Crown forum. Check it out and see if I missed anything!

Tramora III Peasantsbane |

I am Doodlebug Anklebiter, the Dungeon Master of Death.
So, we ended our game on a tragic note with the death of poor Elzbeth.
In between his mournful sobs, Viorec escorts the party back to the Kriegler Estate (the mayor's house) and informs you that a peasant militia has been formed that will watch over you guys while you sleep. I'll remind you that after you have slept for 8 hours, ka-ching!, you'll level up!
What do you do?
So After dreaming of Olif running wild through a peasant village covered in blood gore and carrying peasant parts in his mouth I wake up refreshed and happy. I get dressed( put on armor and weapons) and pack up my stuff ( whatever i have left) go and check out the house looting and looting more. If I come across anyone in the party I act nice!!!!!
If they aren't part of the party I get ready for combat. I didn't sleep late (8) hrs only and I went to bed early so as to avoid the problems that can arise from snooping around and looting a house. I should say Liberated this home from an evil peasant loving cultist ,which I will burn down once i'm done eating breakfast
Doodlebug Anklebiter |

There is nobody in the house, except for your sleeping comrades. You are on the second floor, which is made up entirely of guest bedrooms.
As you descend the staircase, you find yourself in a kitchen. Ahem. "The manor's double-sided fireplace also serves this large kitchen. A large pot with a thick sludge of boiled vegetable matter and a single bowl and spoon are the only items to have seen recent use; the other pans and utensils carry a thin coating of dust."
You open various cabinets, looking for oatmeal, and, amongst other sundries, you find a wine-cabinet with six vintage bottles of Galdurian wine.

Tramora III Peasantsbane |

In order to roll dice, type the following:
{dice]1d20+5 (or whatever)[/dice}
except those }s are ]s.
For example:
1d20+5
so I failed my reflex save and some dishes fall or what ever. I don't care. We eat oatmeal and its great. I take 2 bottles of wine and stuff the in a saddlebag. Olif and I proceed to look around the first floor. Which ever room looks like a study or office we go into and search.

Doodlebug Anklebiter |

You will not step on the purview of the Dungeon Master of Death, Tramora III! Or else, well, you know...
Anyway, you open a rickety looking cabin and, yep, dishes and glass jars tumble to the floor making a godawful racket. Upstairs, Lodi Carene and Dok are awoken from their 8-hour, level-upping sleep.
You can hear them putting about upstairs. Will you have enough time to set the house on fire? There is an open door on the left side of the house that looks like it leads to a master bedroom.

No No I dont want to burn down the house with my comrades inside ? Anyway I'll go into the Bedroom of the dead mayor (master my ass)with Olif and start going through stuff.

Doodlebug Anklebiter |

[I know you said you wanted to prepare your spells, but your last post makes it look like you're headed right down the stairs, so I'm assuming that, in fact, you haven't prepared them yet.]
You walk down the stairs and see that Tramora has made a mess of the kitchen, with oatmeal everywhere. How could one halfling make such a mess, you start to ask yourself but stop. Because it's Tramora, that's why.
He's not in the room, but judging by the sounds of Olaf panting, you'd guess that he's in the master bedroom.
You can say hi or ignore him as you please, but when you get to the library, ahem, "The upper balcony overlooks this smaller sitting room, which is dominated by a bookshelf much too big for the meager selection of two dozen books it holds."
Most of the books look like treatises on horticulture and outdated almanacs, but one of them is quite strange: a stack of papers bound between wooden slats. The pages appear to be rubbings of figures with words that (I think) you can't understand.

Doodlebug Anklebiter |

You guys probably don't remember, but the house was laid out as such:
Front door leads into a living room with a bear skin rug.
There is a door to the left leading to a bedroom.
There is the library north of the bedroom.
There is another bedroom north of the library--this is where Tramora currently is doing whatever distasteful things Tramora is doing.
To the east of that bedroom is the kitchen and the stairs headed up.
Through a doorway there is a dining room to the east of the kitchen.
Nobody has ever been to the southeast corner of the house, so you'd have to walk over there to see what's over there.

Doodlebug Anklebiter |

CRIT FAIL!
Squinting at this illegible mess gives you a headache. Maybe a tumor?
The book does have some pictures, though! Some of the rubbings' sources were small enough to fit on one leaf and you can make out that the source was shaped like a mosquito. Huh.

Tsadok aka "Dok" |

alright...I think I'll be adding Comprehend Languages to my list of prepared spells later. Once Tramora is done searching the manor, I'll suggest we check out the Weaver's home next to pick up whatever components she may have lying around and see if she has a lab in her home for potion brewing.
Tramora burned down the only lab I was aware of already. I'll settle down to prepare spells after the search of her home.

Doodlebug Anklebiter |

You walk through the living room with the bear-skin rug and the fire is still blazing. You pass on through and into a parlor.
Ahem.
"This comfortable room contains richer appointments than the rest of the home, from velvet cushions to the elaborately carved legs of the table and chairs."
There is a large oil painting along the north wall depicting a dignified looking woman with mothlike wings that spread over two cowled figures.
A plaque on the frame identifies the woman as "Iola Kriegler, Savior of Ravenmoor."
