Wizard with small steel shield made in mithral

I'm pretty sure that this question is asked before.. But I could not find any thread..

So.. The mithral shield bonus decreases spell failure by 10%.. and a small steel shield has only 5%.. Is it possible to use this shield for a wizard and still cast your spells like a bauws?


As long as you have a free hand for casting, yes.

Yes. Just add the cost of the enchantment (which is enhancement bonus squared x 1,000 gp) to the price of the mithral shield.


Falling Icicle has the right of it. You can magic Mithral as easily as you can steel or wood. (Cold Iron costs more to enhance though)
