Hi everyone from Spain
I have a little doubt. One of my PCs is a bard who is thinking about choosing "Blistering Invective" as a 2nd level spell.
He asked me about using this spell against undead and I am not very sure about its capabilities.
It's an evocation effect, but also you make a Intimidate check and Undead are immune to morale effects. Also it's language-dependant so I am doubtful about using the spell against some kind of mindless undead.
So, please, could anyone give me some help?
Thank you

School evocation [fire, language-dependent]; Level alchemist 2, bard 2, inquisitor 2
CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
EFFECT
Range personal
Area 30-ft. radius
Duration instantaneous
Saving Throw Reflex partial, see text; Spell Resistance special, see below
DESCRIPTION
You unleash an insulting tirade so vicious and spiteful that enemies who hear it are physically scorched by your fury. When you cast this spell, make an Intimidate check to demoralize each enemy within 30 feet of you. Enemies that are demoralized this way take 1d10 points of fire damage and must succeed at a Reflex save or catch fire. Spell Resistance can negate the fire damage caused by this spell, but does not protect the creature from the demoralizing effect.
Undead are immune to death effects, disease, mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, morale effects, phantasms, and patterns), paralysis, poison, sleep, stun, and any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects or is harmless). Undead are not subject to ability drain, energy drain, or nonlethal damage. Undead are immune to damage or penalties to their physical ability scores (Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution), as well as to fatigue and exhaustion effects. Undead are not at risk of death from massive damage.
Couple of things. Unintelligent Undead do not possess a language. They are immune to demoralizing effects.
If you told him no, good call! I have an Inquisitor and a Cleric, before 3rd level spells there really is not a GREAT anti-undead spell. Then we get Searing light and it's pretty boss.

I let it go ahead. One of my guys is an Inquisitor, and considering we're playing Carrion Crown, he just doesn't have a lot of good anti-undead stuff. So I let him use BI against undead...handwave, but there hasn't been any problems with it because the bad guys essentially get two chances with it: the initial Intimidate check has to work, and then a save against continuing fire damage.
