I'm getting ready to move to Kingsport, Tennessee for a job, and was hoping to continue playing PFS when I get there. Does anyone know of any local games? I'd rather not go all the way to Johnson City, but I could if I have to.

I have no idea how heavy Tennessee is into roleplaying. I am gonna be moving to Nashville before long, so I was checking out the region. I have heard that Nashville has a huge renaissance festival that goes on, and that sort of thing usually goes hand in hand with RP stuff. Unfortunately, I know most of the gaming stores I checked out in Nashville were shut down, so I really hope there are at least a few people playing PFS in the area.

We're growing a group in Memphis (~ 15 - 20 regular and semi-regular players), but we're in the entirely opposite ends of the state :) Best advice I can give you is to scope out where they sell gaming supplies locally - even if it ends up to be a generic bookstore. See if they will let you post a note there, or you might try searching or some 'meetup' groups in the area (www.meetup.com/)- some people have luck with that.

Good Luck.

We have 3 regular cons a year in Memphis with gaming, plus a new one that just got off the ground last year. I used to know a few of the Nashville guys somewhat, but they were still big into LFR the last I heard. There used to be a yahoo group, I'll see what I can find out.

We're about 3 hours away from Nashville, but if you're willing to travel we have game days with 2 slots of pathfinder twice a month - looking at branching out more through the week.
Then there are the cons:
ShadowCon (Early January)
MidsouthCon (March)
GameCon Memphis (this past weekend)

My husband and I schedule/coordinate the Pathfinder Society gaming at the three conventions above. If you ever come over - introduce yourself.

There are two stores around Nashville propper, one in Murfressboro and one little one north of Nashville. There might be one or two in Dixon (west of Nashville). Chattanooga has a pretty vibrant PFS scene, thanks to proximity to former Atlanta VC Mike Brock's efforts. They have two annual cons that support PFS, "CONnooga" and "Dicehead SIEGE". Knoxille has Organized Play, a game store downtown that runs PFS, and Sci-Fi City that apparantly shuns all things Pathfinder/Paizo (except for the map packs). I mean as if the company doesn't even exist, which would be ok if it weren't for the fact they have some seriously obscure small-company stuff lining their shelves.

None of which will help you in Kingsport, I'm guessing.

I suddenly feel immensely better about moving to Tennessee. I grew up in the center valley of California, and am used to being more or less surrounded by gamer culture. I'm glad to know I won't be giving that up when I move.

And I'm am looking for 2-3 Venture-Captains in various locations in TN if you know anyone interested in applying. One of those is the Memphis area.
