Does this spell work on each piece of metal one is wearing or only as a whole? Let us suppose I cast "Chill Metal" upon a fighter; does that fighter (who is wearing a steel shield, steel sword and steel armor) take 3 attacks of "Chill Metal" cold damage per round (once the spell takes affect)?
Or let us suppose I attack a wizard who is wearing a metal amulet or ring of some type; does the wizard take the same cold damage as a fighter who is wearing all that metal armor?

It affects all objects the creature is wearing/wielding/holding/etc. However, the spell deals damage if *any* equipment is chilled/heated, not for a given piece being chilled/heated. Therefor all equipment is chilled (meaning that fighter needs to ditch everything and drop to his skivvies to avoid damage), but only one dose of damage is dealt.
