how would a potion of interrogation work?

you force the subject to drink it , and then interrogate them?
or you drink it, and then touch the subject, and interrogate them?

The imbiber of the potion is the target, so you would have to force the subject to drink it.

So you force him to drink it and he gains the ability to ask himself questions, and if he lies to himself he takes damage using his wisdom modifier.
