And of course this isn't me trying to siphon inspiration from you all like a creativity-vampire. *cough* *cough*
I've only recently even tried to optimize my characters, so most of my former BSFs are... eheh, simple, to say the least. Nostalgia dictates that I say my favorite was my human barbarian - also my first character.

My whirlwind tripmonkey is pretty awesome in PFS. Level 7 version
Straight human fighter (Polearm master)
Str: 19 (21)
Int: 14
Wis: 12
Dex: 14 (16)
Con: 12
Chr: 7
+2 Horsechopper (+15 +10 d10+10)
CMB (trip): +21 (including heirloom bonus). +5 S +4 feat +2 heirlooom +2 weapon +1 polearm master +7 BAB
Feats:
1) Dodge, Spring attack (traded from Weapon Focus @ 4), Combat Reflexes
2) Combat Expertise
3) Mobility
4) Whirlwind Attack
5) Trip
6) Improved Trip
7) Lunge
Basically threatens all within 15 feet (-3 if within 10 feat), and can knock everyone off their feat, then AOO them as they go down. I use almost all of my AOOs every turn between tripping and people closing; a logistic nightmare. Also, the polearm master gives me +2 to hit with the AOOs, making me basically +21 to hit a standing foe. At 8 I'll be getting power attack, then focusing on the "spellcasters can't cast" feats to finish off.
It's a really powerful build and does great damage for the level. Even 1-on-1 he can take most boss-types off their feat quickly; even some of the massive ones (in a pinch his damage isn't terrible anyway).

The more I get roped into "pimp my paladin" threads, the more I find that it's just my absolute favorite class. Well, probably tied with bard, but bards are casters, so in this case, Paladins, hands down.
They just have so much versatility. With the right feat selection, you've got spells for every situation, you can heal allies, buff allies, remove status effects, really take a few hits for the group, and deal decent damage the entire time (not to mention EXTRAORDINARY damage to your smite evil target).
And, if you don't want to cast spells, you still have the perfectly acceptable Warrior of the Holy Light route, allowing you to consistently buff your allies AND gain some nifty abilities without sacrificing too much for it.
