[UC] Weapons and Finesse

I am sorry, but I hope this area is just plagued with a well needed errata. Not a single weapon in the entire book, quite a few of which are chain type weapons, is a single Finesse weapon. This is very odd to say the least. I hope this isn't from some underlying hate for the Finesse feats. We get it that you don't like PrCs, but a simple feat? While this probably won't any game I run, it might effect the game I play in, and if I will play PFS at all.

Thanks,
Hexen

All the light weapons work with Weapon Finesse, so there are some. I'm happy there aren't more one-handed / two-handed finesse weapons.

Why are you happy? Not only does it shaft the feat, but it makes little sense for chain weapons not to?

I would think a number of chain weapons would be too heavy/unwieldy to be finessed.

: shrugs :

Honestly, the whole section suffers from good ideas-bad execution. You know, not even bad. Just insufficient. Overlooking weapon finesse for all the new chain weapons is just one of the issues.

There are tons of monk weapons, but the monk isn't proficient with any of them (though the unarmed fighter might be).

No thrown weapon mentions if it is one or two-handed or light.

Complex weapons are insufficiently explained. What sort of action is it to retrieve the blades from Double Walking Stick Katana or Lungchuan Tamo? Or form Shang Gou into a one handed weapon?

Rope weapons are downright confusing. Rope darts are distracting, but feint only applies to melee attacks. They have a range increment longer than their described rope length. There is no indication of what sort of action it is to retrieve them (is it free? Can you say best thrown weapon ever?).

It would be great it these sort of things could be cleared up. The section is neat, and seems pretty balanced. But the usefulness of the more unique weapons really hinges on issues like these.

im a little upset that the katana was not introduced as a finesse weapon also nor the nine-ring broadsword.

+1

i really wanted the katana to be finesseable. i currently have a first level halfing ninja waiting to be played and being able to finesse the katana would be perfect, unfortunately i now have to wait till third level to get EWP elven curve blade

[grumble]and to think UC would allow for more combat options for you know, a viable finesse fighter, and yet no finesseable 1h or 2h weapons only light weapons [/grumble]

the deadly quality is crap IMHO.

"oooooh, a whole +4 to coup de grace's"...crap.

+2 crit confirmation, i could have understood. But if you have someone in a position to cdg them, just do it twice rather than add the friggen +4 to the dc

i'm houseruling everything with the deadly quality to finesse. wakawaka's (wakazawshis) get finesse for free if you have ewp.

All chain weapons should be Finesse weapons since that is what is required to actually control them and not strike yourself.
