For the record Carina please don't ever post my characters actions.
Lol, I was thinking the same. Poor Lukan will be taking a -4 for shooting into melee since everything within 5' of that dog is considered engaged in combat.
Sad to see he hasn't posted in a while. Apparently Bron took him along for the disappearing act.

James is actually commenting that I initially had Lukan charging into battle and taking an AoO. Ganit and Lukan really need to swap places.

The Hermit Ganit D'Artain |

yeah I saw that post on my phone and noticed it changed when I got back to my desk. Neither of those actions seems to work very well for him.
I had originally shot the tick and moved back next to Telius to make room for our front-liners but I guess that post was swallowed and I just made the best of the situation. I'm mindful of how s***y Ganit is in this sort of area and I'd prefer not to be there. I'm just happy for summons.

Carina Stigard |

Ah - depends on the DM, some of them like to NPC characters and others want other's to do it. I have been posting for Bron and Lukan recently in the battles since neither has been posting much. If you want DM Aron to post, just let him know if you are going to be away for a while, or ask someone else to bot your character.

The Hermit Ganit D'Artain |

You're doing fine Carina. I think the rest of us are on the same page in regards to letting the group know if we're able to update our character's actions. Especially during combat.
Also - Well played, Aron. Smurf jokes have been few and far between in recent years. Thank God for terrible movies reminding everyone what TV was like 20 years ago. **cough**Garfield**cough**

DM Aron Marczylo |

huh... I wasn't aware of this.
lol yeah I didn't know that until I told Alex what happened when I said Smurf.

The Hermit Ganit D'Artain |

So about this Lukan situation (and ongoing Bronwyn situation for that matter). Does anybody feel that a recruitment should be opened or that maybe the remainder of us switch from the 6 player conversion to the standard AP? I hate to lose these players but its been close to a month since Lukan has posted and its a likely contributor to whats bogging down our game.
I hope I'm not the only heartless S.O.B. whose been thinking about this. If so: My apologies, brothers.
To the rest: Thoughts? Feelings?

Telias Markan |

As we already have a fairly non standard group opening up for one more would not hurt. Can't say what happened to the other two. But it is a big loss of meat at the front. And sadly I'm not built for being meaty even when I wildshape. It'd take a total rebuild for that to happen

Carina Stigard |

Give me 15 levels, and I will be pretty buff - 20+ strength. But for now, I am thinking that we could use a replacement. I would not mind converting it to 4 people. We have two fighter types, James for front line armor and Ganit for range/melee backup. Telias for healing/spell support. And me for arcane blasting. Not the perfectly optimized 4 person party, but should be good.
I don't mind posting for Lukan and Bron, but would definitely prefer to have 6 warm bodies. It is strange with Lukan, he was a regular poster in 3 campaigns I am in and then suddenly just before New Years completely disappeared without a whisper.
You all decide. We would probably be stronger with one more combat type, but it really makes no difference to me.

The Hermit Ganit D'Artain |

I do appreciate you posting for them Carina but its unfortunate to not have them around for conversation and storytelling. I certainly hope Lukan is in good health, it is very strange considering the 6 months of daily posting abruptly met with nothing. For 4 weeks.
We certainly have the 4 pillars of party roles in place so I'd be happy to go as is but I wouldn't shrug off an additional player. We'll see what James and Aron have to say...

Jameson Addercop IV |

I could go either way. A 6 person party is much easier in PbP in some regards since you can see what each person wants to do and more easily handle it all, but of course in situations like this where you're waiting for one or two to post it drags things out. Another advantage of 6 in the party is you have some more leeway in your character, you don't have to be good at everything since there are 5 others in the group. I'm in favor of picking up replacements but at the same time if Lukan and Bron come back I'd feel bad about it. Either way I think it's up to GM Aron.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Yeah it is a but worrying. I feel somewhat to blame due to my horrible habbit of not posting as frequently. I'd like ot give them a little bit of time to see if they'll reply on the matter and if they don't I can find a way to write them out of the AP and invite two others.
It'l be easier to stick to 6 player group as I'm working from that conversion and ther emight be a xp error when converted back to 4 player, not to mention the conversion has fixed issues that there were with the AP so it's easier in that reguard too.
Sir Bronwyn appeared ot have arrived for a moment and then he seemed to have dissappeared, though I havn't seen any mention as to why the pair of them have dissappeared.

Sir Bronwyn Raslov |

I'm here! I'll step up on my posting!
Just FYI: I just bought an X-Box (my last video-game was a PS1 lots of years ago) and discovered a lot was happening these last years. On an aside note, can you recommend me some classic X-Box 360 games I really should try? For the moment I got Skyrim (the main reason of my lack of posting), Alan Wake, Gears of War 1 and Mass Effect 2.

Sir Bronwyn Raslov |

Can we verify if Lukan is present at other games? I'd hate to get another guy just so he gets back and says "wtf dude I was spending the weekend at Hawaii".
But if it really is needed, can we get a cleric? I mean, not because of the whole "band-aid" thing, but more as a cool kingdom-building element. I mean, not one of us aside from Telias is really religious, and I always think it's cool to have different religions with different viewpoints about something.

The Hermit Ganit D'Artain |

Yay! As instigater of the discussion, I submit my deepest and most sincere apologies for rallying the crowd. It's good to hear from you Bron. Lets hope lightning strikes twice and I'm left looking like a complete a****le! C'mon Lukan, I know you want to!
Gears of War 1, 2 & 3. Dragon Age: Origins 1 & 2. Fallout 3. Fallout: New Vegas. GTA4. Uhhhh... Mass Effect 3 comes out in March so finish up 2 so your choices carry over. You have a pretty good start on the games I've enjoyed over the years with my faithful 360

Sir Bronwyn Raslov |

Yeah I've played Dragon Age: 1 and 2 on the PC and PS3 (my girlfriend has a PS3 and sometimes we trade consoles) so I don't think I'll be getting those soon. I also have Fallout 3 on the PS3. Also Red Dead Redemption.
Problem I'm having with Mass Effect 2 is that the backstory is very extensive and I keep thinking "I should've played the first one", and the first one is hard to find anywhere.
What are the "must-play" X-Box exclusives?

Carina Stigard |

Welcome back Bron, just so you know, you have been played by a girl recently.
As far as Lukan goes, I am in all three of his campaigns. He was one of the most regular posters, after me probably, and then on Dec. 28 just stopped. I believe that he is in the Coast Guard, so anything could have happened. So, as far as that goes, he has not posted as far as I know in nearly a month.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Not found much love the exclusives on x-box I admit.
Best buy the first MAss Effect because there is a thing nowadays where you can download and make the major decisions, however there are lots of little decisions you could've made in the first one that reflect in the second, however the problem with the first one was you didn't scan planets, you just landed on them in a big APC called a Mako which get's very old, very fast.
Scanning planets was a huge improvement and even though you could say it gets tedious doing allthe planets, it's still far better than using the mako, though DLC I got has you piloting a cool hover-vehicle which is far better than the mako.
I've been replaying ME2 recently, doing all the DLC before I finally do the last missions. I highly recommend getting the first game before you got the second game since you get to see the awesome story-line.
only xbox exclusive games I can think of was Halo, though that was the xbox, not 360, but it is reverse compatable if you have a hard drive. The story behind Halo I quite loved and again loved the second, but I felt the 3rd game was a cop out as they seemed to focus more on multi-player and less on single-player so I got rarther cheesed off on that.
I've heard Halo Reach is actually meant to be pretty good.
I have games more focused on PS3 so I barely give my xbox the time of day anymore, but the only games I can think of are ones already mentioned like DA:O and DA2, the latter being such a let down.
Arkham Aslyum? If you're a batman fan (especially of the 90's TV show ) thne you'll love this game, especially as they have Mark Hammel as the joker in it and a few other voices from the show.

Sir Bronwyn Raslov |

Is there any way I could talk to you guys about games outside this topic? I don't know many gamers around here (Brazil) and I'm trying to catch up on many lost years of gaming (btw, that Witcher game looks cool) and you guys seem cool and know your games. But I fear posting here detracts a bit from the game and may piss off other players.

Carina Stigard |

Na - post away, there seems to be quite a bit of computer game chat on here. Actually, it might be good as long as people post on the OOC and the In Game threads at the same time. This game has really slowed down, so anything that you can do to speed things up would be good.
That is the whole purpose of the OOC thread, yeh, it is designed for talking about the campaign, but anything else is good in my opinion.

The Hermit Ganit D'Artain |

I'm going to agree with Carina on this. I'd say if we find a reason to post in the OOC then go for it. At the very least it shows that there is still interest when the board gets slow.
On that note, Arkham City is pretty boss. I'm not huge into comics but the game is really fun.

DM Aron Marczylo |

I agree, just post here, it is out of character afterall :) But yeah, Arkham Aslyhum is awesome, especially if you watched the 90's batman cartoon series since they have some of the similar voices and Mark Hammel returning as the Joker. A man whose acting as the joker was so popular, people wanted him to voice-over Heath Ledger in the Batman Movie.
On the subject of the game I've been taking time, trying ot mull over antagonise. It's a pain for a few reasons, but I should have a answer tomorrow.

The Hermit Ganit D'Artain |

I played Witcher 2 for like 25 minutes before my graphics card showed its true colors and sent a wave of pixels at me with every fireball I had to dodge. It was pretty impressive while it was working so I'll pick it up when they port it over to 360.

DM Aron Marczylo |

So I got that feat trying to get a way to use my social skills on combat, but almost every topic I see on the forums says it's the devil in boots. If you'd like, I can take the feat off and get some other +1 to something.
Nah the feat is fine. I've also been busy and now sick, but I'll post in a sec lol.
And I never saw it as rarther secretive about gaming really, I guess the news doesn't pass over the ocean that well or something?
I remember when there was a hot button issue on video games the origonal Witcher was shipped with the nude cards covered up and I have the Platinum edition which has the images uncencored.
The game itself is great though and I loved the system itself. I managed to get this game when I got my gaming PC because I now had a PC that oculd handle the graphics, but now for the Witcher 2 it struggles and most action appear in slow motion, however I have my eye on a new graphics card.

Jameson Addercop IV |

My posting will be a little off/on starting tomorrow afternoon, I'm going in for elective eye surgery and while I'm sure the painkillers will have me feeling smurfy I won't be allowed to strain my eyes for a few days.

Carina Stigard |

No problem - although the real questions is when is someone going to post IC. We have had like a week of OOC posts with Ganit's arrow somewhere between his bow and the big bug.
If we are waiting for Lukan, he has not posted in any of the 4 games I am in with him for over a month. So either DMPC him or I can keep posting. Lets kill these mites and get the good lady her ring back.

DM Aron Marczylo |

I'll let you DMPC him Carina. Also, as I said IC, I've been having stomach problems today. My mum caught the virus first from the hospital when she went there for a blood test, then my dad got it and finally I got it. I'm mostly over it and I didn't have the vomiting fits my parents did, but I definantly had the runs so been feeling really crappy today when I started the post at about 10 am and only finished it now since I kept drifting in and out of sleep.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Actually I had to end up looking at the rules as whenever I talked to Alex about it he broke out into a screaming rage about how it's a RPG and not a MMO, lol.
I'm fine with it, but I can see why people would get annoyed. I don't see what he meant about forcing wizards into mellee as it just says that is basically pisses them off so could mean he focuses his spells on that character. Or I'm missing something :p.

Carina Stigard |

Don't know much about it, but I would think that if you manage to enrage a character, they would be so focused on you that they would suffer some other detriment - -2AC versus other characters attacks, -2 saving throws, -2 on Concentration checks, something of that sort. There should be something in the feats that would be comparable. Just getting the guy to focus on you seems a little weak.
Actually, thinking about it, if you are a rogue/monk/ninja with evasion/improved evasion and you can get the enemy blaster to keeps throwing stuff your way, and you have a high Reflex save so that you keep taking no damage, this could be a very powerful spell.
Remember, I have only been playing Pathfinder for about 7 months and before that I had not played since AD&D days in the '80s.

The Hermit Ganit D'Artain |

I'm not worried about the feat. You get some situational benefits at the cost of making yourself a giant target so its a wash, IMO.

The Hermit Ganit D'Artain |

Sucks that James doesn't have any ranged weapons because having all of us cramped into that 10' tunnel with a some overgrown creepy crawlies seems like a pretty bad scene. Carina, you could potentially lend him your crossbow for a bit? Idk?
I'm carrying 2 tanglefoot bags and an alchemist's fire which could be pretty handy for slowing down that centipede. Also those wands could be really useful right now. Grease will keep them moving slowly and burning hands bypasses DR so that could potentially take out a crowd of them. We just have to lure them back to grounds we can defend.

The Hermit Ganit D'Artain |

I think that casting Grease on the 10' sq covering AA17/AA18/AB19 could be a really helpful defensive maneuver. It'll halve their speed or make them flat-footed or prone. So even if we have players with low dex for ranged they would have a better chance at hitting the target. I know Aron played Dragon Age 2 so he may even be open to flammable grease spells.

I really don't remember much of DA2. Just that I was so dissappointed.

The Hermit Ganit D'Artain |

I enjoyed myself with it. The mage is easily the most obnoxiously amazing class. I was referencing the spell combos in my last post. Grease is essentially the same spell in DA2 as it is in PF but when you throw a fire spell on it the whole area burns for a few rounds. A lot like Web.
@ Carina - I agree it would be better if Bron were to cast it but I think you're carrying a wand of grease.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Actually the spell grease has no description upon it about being set on fire like web and I think it's more a DM decision, however I'm a soft DM in many cases and will allow it if you have any way to set the grease on fire.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Er, wand of burning hands?
Oh yes I forgot about that.
