On page 56 of the Core Rulebook, under Fighter's Weapon Training ability:
A fighter also adds this bonus to any combat maneuver checks made with weapons from this group. This bonus also applies to the fighter's Combat Maneuver Defense when defending against disarm and sunder attempts made against weapons from this group.
I read this two different ways and I am not sure which is correct. Is there a clarification somewhere, or am I only one finding this wording ambiguous?
Is this meant to read as: "... when you are defending against disarm and sunder attempts made against you by weapons from this group."
Or as: "... when you are defending against disarm and sunder attempts made against you when you are wielding a weapon from this group."
Or perhaps, both of the above ways?

I read it as "when you are defending against disarm and sunder attempts made against you when you are wielding a weapon from this group."
So if you have the axe group and someone tries to sunder your axe you would get the bonus.
I read it as you are defending against attacks made against ______ group.
It also makes sense that if you are getting a bonus to use the weapon more effective with regard to CMB's that you would get a bonus to protect the weapon also.
PS:*I have no idea what group axes are in. I was just using "axe group" as an example.
I do wish it was written more clearly though, and I did not know about the rule until now. Thanks.

It is when wielding a weapon from the group and it being the target of a disarm or sunder attempt.
The sentence is perfectly clear about that when you read the bolded portion in context "disarm and sunder attempts against weapons from this group"
If it were a bonus when someone were using that weapon group to make disarm or sunder attempts, it would say "disarm and sunder attempts made by weapons of this group."
