Synthesist / Rogue, Scout plus Pounce?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Well, I am thinking of making a Synthesist summoner who will take a few levels of Rogue for a Society Character.

I am wondering about the wording of the Scout ability. It says that after a charge the rogues attack gets sneak attack. This is usually not an issue, but the eidolen can have Pounce.

Basically, can a Synthesist Summoner, Rogue scout, charge and make a handfull of attacks that all get sneak attack?

I think RAW it would work, especially because APG gave the Scout option at the same time the APG gave Barbarians the ability to pounce.

So is it too awesome? Or not awesome enough? Thoughts?

It's a valid combination, RAW.

However, to get it, the synthesist summoner is giving up at least four levels worth of evolutions, eidolon advancement (hp, AC, etc.), spells, and class features. It makes your charge + pounce more damaging, but you will be significantly weaker in almost every other aspect.

IMO, you'd probably be better off with a single level of rogue, possibly two to qualify for a rogue talent and the Extra Rogue Talent feat. The rogue talent Surprise Attack gives much the same benefit as Scout's Charge during the surprise round and the Gang Up feat makes it easier to set up Sneak Attacks.
