Jonasty, I am sorry, but I'm gonna have to bow out for now. Perhaps my characters can join the party at some later point.
I am starting two new games right now, so my time will be scarce and no matter how much I love to play and how much I love WoT, I feel that I need to put the needs of my players before mine.
Sorry to disrupt the party. I'll follow the game and I'm here if you need any reference.
Thanks.
I really appreciate the heads up, it makes it easier than having it happen in game. Absolutely please follow the game and who knows, there might be an opportunity for you to join in down the road.

If chosen it may make more sense for Pandin to actually be a boarderlander that was found and raised by Aiel because Aiel cannot have the skill ride and that is required for warders, unless you would houserule it and allow 5 ranks in something else so that we could have an Aiel warder. Just a thought.
Actually in the WoT Source book it says an Aiel can't take riding at 1st level but can pick it up at other levels. If you took it as a cross class skill you could have 4 ranks by 5th level. So by the time you hit the +6 BAB needed you should have the ride skill high enough.

If it ok i would like to throw my hat in as:
Graul
Aiel
Algai’d’siswai / Wilder
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 1, 6) = 18=17
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 5) = 17=16
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 2, 4) = 12=10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1, 3) = 11=10
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 5, 3) = 17=14
Graul understood his fate as soon as the fire leaped from his hands those months ago. His tribe mates knew also. The next morning he said his good byes and nameless he began his path to the blight.
Graul slept. And dreamed. He stood at the edge of a vast body of water. More water than he could have ever imagined. Behind him was a field of green grass stretching as far as the eye could see. Graul turned and in the distance a dragon danced across the sky as if made of lightning and fire. He knew the dragon was something important, something more important than his duty in blight. He awoke knowing he had to travel into the wetlands and find the Dragon. Why was something he would learn.
This way I can get a sheet together and be ready.

Erefine/Pandin, given your eagerness on these boards and the level of commitment you've got going, I'd be happy to offer you the vacant spot in the game. Your Aiel concept sounds cool, or you can use the original if you'd like or something else.
As far as the Aiel as Warder concept, I'd be fine houseruling something so that you could have a "non-standard" warder build. The only thing to point out is that we only have one channeler at this point so she might need to be a Green to accomadate all the warders we've got. :-)
Honestly, Pandin can be whatever 2nd level character you want (within reason of course, and I would prefer we don't have another Ogier to be honest with you, kind of like the lone Ogier idea). You've shown you've got a grasp of the rules and a firm background in the Wheel of Time. So start posting in the game thread with him and get your character sheet up asap with whatever you come up with so I can spot check the mechanics.
Shes Domani, of course she'll go green! She cant pass up the opportunity to bond multiple strong handsome men lol

You know what, you were the last of the truly dedicated who seemed interested in this game and I like this backstory. It catches my eye and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let it go to waste. Go ahead and get your sheet together and start posting in game, we'll have 6 people. Accepted!
Lain of the Taardad Aiel
Well damn. Here I was thinking I was special! ;) Haha!
Okay fellow Aiel, lets talk shop. Or well... Backstory anyway.
Lain is a Stone Dog of the Iron Mountain Sept of the Taardad Aiel. He is in the Wetlands, hunting the Car'a'Carn, unwillingly. A Wise One forced him from the Threefold Land, accompanied by a group of Far Dareis Mai. He is not the most willing killer, but will do what is necessary to prevent harm from happening to those he cares for. Other than that... Any questions, just ask! :)
Pandin Stoneherd
Alright character sheet is up with updated background. If possible I would like to be a non-traditional warder (down the road of coarse). Now talking Aiel shop. Pandin is an eager killer of the Stone Dogs from the Goshiens Stones River Sept. He is an eager killer of shadowspawn and bears many scars from his battles. He also wears an eye patch over his left eye where he caught a hooked Trolloc arrow, while he broke the arrow off and the Wise Ones healed it as best they could, he has no vision out of the eye. He has been sent to the Wetlands by his clan chief to find out the reason for the increase of shadowspawn.
Graul
Graul is a man that knows he is going to die. He is quiet most of the time as if in deep thought, and seems with drawn.
This is actually because he believes that at any moment he could burst into flames, killing those around him. He attempts to maintain his concentration at all times and at night will move away from the others, incase he channels in his sleep.

Thanks, I have it in hard-back. Is the .pdf even available anymore anywhere? It's specifically the Prophecies of the Dragon I'm interested in. Mostly for the additional information/rules that it has.. especially for channeling and what-not.
Also, as an aside, I'm doing some tinkering with a conversion to Pathfinder. If you all would be interested, I could post updates if it gains any traction. :)

I'd actually be interested in seeing a Pathfinder conversion of WoT!

Ah. Sadly I only have the Core. I dunno. I don't think the Core .pdf is available any more no. I got it a couple years ago off a friend.
Awesome. I'd love to see more of the conversion. It definitely needs a bit of shaping up. One thing that really bothered me is the fact that the Creators of the game didn't really seem to understand the Physics in the Abilities, in the world. I mean in the Core Rulebook, Perrin is listed as having a greater Con than Loial and Elayne is listed as being more intelligent. That makes ZERO sense!

Graul, based on your first post, it appears that the rest of the party is unaware of your character's channeling ability. I just want to make sure this is correct and that everyone is aware as I couldn't remember if you had said one way or the other. It's totally fine and will present some good RP moments.

Well, I can go with Graul hiding the fact that he can channel.
It would lend more to the way he would truly act, maybe not a great thing for group cohesion though.
It all depends on how it comes out and when really. If we trust you we will be more likely to keep your secret.

Exactly. I mean, if you revealed your ability by stopping a rampaging trolloc from skewering me, I'd be a little forgiving of the fact. ;-)

Just as an FYI, this weekend sounds kind of busy for some people and I know here in the states the 4th of July will keep people busy.
I'm hoping to see some activity from people up till Friday afternoon or so but then I won't expect to see stuff until the following Tuesday. I know I'll personally be busy Sunday and Monday with 4th stuff myself.
Jonasty1031
I will be on travel all next week, so posting may be limited. Please run me as needed starting Saturday.
Will do. If combat arises, I will try to play Graul accordingly. Otherwise, he'll probably maintain stoic silence till then. ;-)

I'm still here, but fearful that we've got some party issues. I know when you originally posted for recruitment you had mentioned that you might allow an Aiel, but needed a good reason...well we've got three of them, and none of them knew each other before the start of the game. We've also got an Ogier, whom has never really been in civilization before...so out of our 6-characters four of them are outcasts, and/or even feared from the land we are adventuring in.
I found that one of the best things about the WOT is the depth of cultural development, and the differing attitudes of the various cultures. We've effectively got two adventuring parties with the Wastelanders always hand speaking among themselves, and the wetlanders kind of along for the ride.
I'd be willing to do another character to fit the setting more, but unless we can find a way to bind the party together, these might be recurrent issues. Just don't see how this party in it's current configuration can work in the situations we are currently in. Nobody would trust or talk to us.
Anyone else have any thoughts???

I've noticed the same thing, as far as the party make up and the way things are going.
On the one hand, I've tried to play up the NPC reactions without letting it affect the overall story and think it's been working at least a little bit. On the other hand, yes it could very much becoming a sticking point in later points in the story and it is something I've thought about.
I'm open to thoughts and suggestions from everyone, on how they think things are going and where we're going from here. I would like to keep this game going and if it needs some mid-game tweeks, that can work. Given the nature of things with forums, having an Ogier suddenly become an Andoran armsman isn't gonna really phase me. We're early enough in, I'm fine with changing things up.
This is not to say this has to happen or anything. I just want to make sure this game stays active and am open to any ideas that could help ensure this.
