Hi Everyone,
I'm thinking of substituting the Carrion Hill module for the Broken Moon AP module. I think that the Broken Moon module is good, but its the weakest one in the series too date. Therefore, does anyone think that replacing Carrion Hill for Broken Moon would disrupt the flow or story of the Carrion Crown series?
Thank you.

I actually wouldn't mind this either, once I get around to running it. I mean, werewolves are fun and all, but out of everything in the AP they're the least inspiring classic horror monster for me, whereas I really like Lovecraft. I'll probably stick to the AP as written in the end, but I'd still like to know what people think of this option. An easy integration, or no?

There's two major parts to Broken Moon. The Shudderwood, and then Feldgrau. Are we talking about only replaceing Shudderwood, or replacing both of them?
I would strongly advocate for keeping Feldgrau, since it's the only time in the whole series so far where you actually get to confront the WW and see what it is they do. Otherwise, they are way too much of a background opponent and the story can feel detached. Also, you get to have vengance upon Auren Vrood, the man who killed the Professor (whom all the PCs should feel an attachment to). Don't deny them that. He's a really good mid-campaign boss.
Now, as for the Shudderwood, I'll concede, it's less essential to the overal structure and format of the AP. It's basically just a place the WW stopped by and picked up something. You could do that easily with Carrion Hill, just replace "shoggoth goo" with "packlord heart" and you're good to go.
However, from a pacing point of view, Shudderwood fills an important niche. Most of it is event-based, NPC-interation-focused roleplay, located in the wilderness. Replacing that with Carrion Hill's "urban investigation, then kill some humans" might feel a little samey, given what's happened before and what's happening next. Depends on what the group likes.
I'll posit that if you're not excited about werewolves, try thinking of them in a slightly different light: it's not about them being big, angry beasts that kill. It's about the fact that anyone could secretly be one of them. That you could secretly be one of them. It's about paranoia and suspicion, not about ripping people's heads off.

If you wanted a Mythos campaign, mystery solving, ghost busting etc- sure.
However one of the COOL concepts behind Carrion Crown is its horror is in different servings- So ghosts to frankenstien, to werewolves to mythos to vampires... not sure on 6- I'll say Lich + evil cults.
Its like a smoagsbord.
