Magus Spell List

I have a player who is looking to be a Magus is the next campaign. One of the things I generally allow is the Spell Compendium, and he was asking about spells that could possibly be added as part of the Magus base spell list.

Just curious if other GMs have run into players asking to expend the limited spell list and what issues they did or did not run into doing so.

Liberty's Edge

I would handle it buy only allowing 3 or so spells from each level.

Off the top of my head spells that'd be appropriate for a magus I'd allow are:

0-level
Electric Jolt
Launch item or Launch bolt
Stick

1st-level
Bloodwind
Benign Transposition
Persistant Blade

2nd-level
Daggerspell Stance
Body of the Sun
Greater Slide
Whirling Blade

3rd-level
Chain Missile
Greater Mage Armor or Diamond Steel
Reverse Arrows

4th-level
Forcewave
Ray Deflection
Translocation Trick

5th-level
Greater Blink
Lesser Iron Gaurd
Spell Matrix or Wall of Dispell Magic

6th-level
Night's Caress
Ruby Ray of Reversal
Spectral Touch

These are among the best fitting flavorwise while giving the magus some spells that is not going to terrible outcast a sorceror or wizard.
