Paizo / PFS Presence at PAX?

Hi, I was curious if there are any plans for there to be any Paizo or PFS presence at PAX in August, being that it's in Seattle near their neck of the woods?

I know it's heavily console/computer game oriented, but from what I've heard there are plenty of tabletop and wargame enthusiasts there as well. I also know WotC operates a booth and runs games.

Hopefully you guys hae better luck then we did for PAX East, we got nothing. Course my friend and I got LESS then nothing from the sponsors of the event WotC, there table guy straight out ignored us when we asked about when the next introductory 4E session was starting so we went an got in line for the portal 2 demo...

Well, being the Seattle VC, I'd be the one running things if we do manage to get a PFS presence at PAX. I know Hyrum had mentioned wanting to get us in there, and I personally would love to do it, I'm just not certain who we'd have to go through to get there.

Ok, I was just curious. I know all the passes are already sold out for attendees, but I'm sure they must have a different method of admitting exhibitors and those running events. I suppose if there's no official presence I might still be able to scare up a game or two.

Please do. Considering the massive tabletop roleplaying presence at PAX (which grows every year), it would be great to see Paizo make a splash. I know it's just after Gen Con and they are still recovering, but I bet if Paizo have a small booth tucked away up there would make a killing. I'll definitely hop into some PFS throughout the weekend.

Just thought I'd throw out there that there's already an official RPGA presence on the PAX forums discussing what Wizards is doing in regards to their stuff. Sure would be nice to see some Pathfinder action there!

We're going to be there, although in what capacity is still be determined. :)

Good move. Without Pathfinder's presence, a convention about all of gaming culture feels incomplete.

There are some very good Wizards offerings this year, and Wizards runs a great event every year at PAX Prime. Events include a classic-style adventure, short delves, Encounters season catch-up, demos of the new board game, and more. Schedule here. WotC will throw additional stuff and run demos from their booth as well.

Holt, I'm not sure if you went to the booth vs RPGA area. At PAX Prime just come and sign up in the RPGA/Organized Play area - there are some really nice gamers there that help with mustering. There is no Wizards living play (no LFR, Ashes of Athas, or Living Divine). I have some friends who would like to see Pathfinder at PAX, so please do post when plans solidify.

Also, it may be a little late, but we could use Pathfinder judges this weekend in Portland for the GameStorm free gameday.

Ah, wonderful, I was hoping there might be some sort of official presence. I know with it being so close to GenCon that there's a lot of other things going on, but this year I decided to try out something new. I'm pretty stoked about an entire convention that sells out in days.

Great to hear.. i know that a friend and I would love to play while at PAX. Looking forward to hearing what might be able to happen...

If nothing official, if people want to get a group together let me know.

I'd like to play, but I'm going to try and bring the bare minimum to run something if I can round up some players who are interested. Helps to have all those rulebooks on pdf on the tablet!

I have all of the books on my iPad and love the fact that you get them for free when you subscribe to the books and adventures from the site.. Makes leaving your books at home and traveling light :).

I live in Seattle so it does become easy to grab books.

Well, we're most certainly going to be at PAX, but we desperately need GMs to make sure things go off without a hitch. If any of you guys are interested, shoot me an e-mail at SeattlePFS@gmail.com
