Gambling was not as fun as I had hoped. It turns out that you mostly lose. Singing bawdy songs is much more my speed. She launches into an old limerick: "I knew a maiden from Kyonin/ who tired of waifish elven men . . . "
If we can move on to big and better things, I'm totally ready for it. I had planned one more move, but I've been needing to know where edgar stands right now.
Basically if he is still at a loss right now, he was suppose to start using the price family tactics.. and get someone to drink that beer thing.
if it is for reactionary rolls that would show me something, please feel free to make the roll for me.. I don't like to have a single post up displaying a dice roll.
I was considering starting up a Kingmaker campaign on my own in the near future - but from what I can tell the Kingdom building process is apparently very...tedious. I was wondering, if it isn't too much to ask, could you give me an idea of what the kingdom building consists of?
Sorry i've been swamped lately. Yeah my KM pbp is well into chapter 2 and I created the 6 player conversion of chapters 1 and 2 so I consider myself a KM specialist.
Some players love the kingdom building process. It can be a lot of tedious bookkeeping so its important to find the right tools to make it easy for your group. Kicking around on the KM forums is a kingdom building spreadsheet that makes tracking ridiculously easy.
The only risk of it being tedious with that tool is players debating what to do so much. To see an example of us running kingdom turns over PbP do a search for Kingmaker Interlude in the PbP forum- this is a 600 post or so thread where we ran extensive kingdom building between chapters 1 and 2.
From my understanding he got firewalled at work, and then could have potentially had some other personal stuff going on as well. Shame, because, on paper at least, this is a great group.
I was thinking about offering to run the game, but I'm mostly a terrible GM. It would almost certainly fail.

As some of you know, Hoof and I are or should I say were coworkers. As of last Friday we, along with over 100 coworkers, were laid off. They announced it about 2 months ago and work got progressively more stressful from then on. For Hoof GMing 2 2nd Darkness groups, plus the other GMing and playing he was doing, when added to the real world stress of an impending layoff was too much. Thus he folded, not even up to explaining what happened to all of you. I felt the need to explain for him.
Neither of us has been able to get another job yet, so the stress continues. For myself, since I was only a player, the game was a stress reliever. I would love to see it continue. However, since I must focus primarily on getting a new job, I would not even consider GMing. If someone else wants to takeover, I will gladly stay on.
By the way, does anybody need a good corporate trainer?
Thanks for dropping in to let us know. I totally get it. My wife and I have both had periods of being out of work for more than a year, and now the company I work at is going through the process of being "acquired". Hopefully it won't be long for you guys.
Wow. . . I'm Iluna from the second bunch. I hope for the best for the both of you. I've no ill will when games, especially pbp, die. That sounds utterly terrible. Like I said, I hope both you Dzae and Stomphoof land on your feet.
I would still like to play in a Second Darkness game, but I think this group has dissolved. If you're interested in running, you might need to get a group in Gamer Connection. If you do, I'll certainly apply for it there.
I would have been up for it Deevor but i've already essentially replaced this game by joining others and I really feel pushed to my limit at the minute.

Yeah same here and with games that will be starting tomorrow.
But I do think we all appreciate your generous offer. We know it takes a lot of time and commitment to run a game, especially one that is pbp. Thank you for offering, and I do hope we get a chance to do some gaming here later.
