Arcane Pool (Su)
At 1st level, a magus can expend 1 point from his arcane pool as a swift action to grant any weapon he is holding a +1 enhancement bonus for 1 minute. For every four levels beyond 1st, the weapon gains another +1 enhancement bonus, to a maximum of +5 at 17th level. These bonuses can be added to the weapon, stacking with existing weapon enhancement to a maximum of +5. Multiple uses of this ability do not stack with themselves. At 5th level, these bonuses can be used to add any of the following weapon properties: dancing, flaming, flaming burst, frost, icy burst, keen, shock, shocking burst, speed, or vorpal. Adding these properties consumes an amount of bonus equal to the property’s base price modifier. These properties are added to any the weapon already has, but duplicates do not stack. If the weapon is not magical, at least a +1 enhancement bonus must be added before any other properties can be added. These bonuses and properties are decided when the arcane pool point is spent and cannot be changed until the next time the magus uses this ability. These bonuses do not function if the weapon is wielded by anyone other than the magus. A magus can only enhance one weapon in this way at one time. If he uses this ability again, the first use immediately ends. Spell Combat (Ex)
BACKGROUND:
The Spellfang was not always called such - nor is it his name for many. Tozur Grulgok was born in a tribe of goblins: vicious beasts that spread terror and carnage wherever they went. He had the honours of being born as the chieftain's son: black of skin and with great fangs, like his lineage would suggest. Yet he was always queer amongst goblins. As he grew up into adolescence, he became the black sheep of his tribe: he was never fond of the meat the warbands would bring back of man; he had no distaste for vegetables; and he was born with the faintest arcane heritage. When the chieftain was challenged for bringing up such unworthy scum of a child, Tozur realised he couldn't stay. In the dead of night, his father was killed by rebellious goblins, usurpers who desired power. Tozur managed to grab the dead chieftain's black blade, and fled the camp - he ran, and ran until his legs could continue no longer. He had crossed two rivers when he found the first settlement for several days and nights. His legs had given in, and he collapsed on the edge of the city's walls. When he woke up, it was in a barn, by the grace of a lady whose beauty was something he had never seen. Still frightened, he clutched to the blade that was still with him, but never snarled or threatened her. She saw that he had none of the goblin ferocity nor evil, and she accepted him. She took care of him, got food for him, and taught him the common tongue. His home became that barn, on the outskirts of Nybor. Her name was Trista Goodheart - and he could never disagree with her name. He came to love her, as a friend. His only friend. She helped him hide, yet he lived comfortably. She helped getting food, and she guided him in his practice to harness the powers in his veins. She taught him minor swordsplay, and how to wield the heritage that he had kept. And she told him stories. Stories of the gods, of the beauty of Shelyn, of local heroes and heroes around the world. He was enthralled by the prospect of being a hero, and deigned from thereon, with her as his witness, that he would one day become a hero himself: Tozur Spellfang. Yet Tozur was still young, and it only took one slip, even after four years, to be found by the citizens of Nybor. He had to flee, and did so in tears as he had to leave Trista. But he had learned so much of the world, and observed the people of Nybor. Travelling north, along the lake, he came to Galduria and hid for a year. There, he observed the apprentices at the Twilight Academy, and worked for days upon days on end to imitate their grasp on the magic in his fingers. Tozur managed to steal a gnome apprentice's garb at one point during one night, where he stole several tomes and books. Yet it was only a year before he was almost found, and the rumour of his presence spread. He left, travelling further north, along the Lampblack river to avoid Churlwood. He eventually found his way to Roderic's Cove, a pirate city. He found some manner of acceptance there, though no-one with which he could trust his life. Yet he stayed there, finding an attic in an abandoned warehouse on the docks that no-one used. He dressed in heavy black cloaks to hide his heritage, so that he could wander the streets without drawing attention. It wasn't the life he wanted. And he probably would never get it. It's been less than a year since the Blot arrived above the city of Riddleport, far in the horizon. Tozur has found it unsettling and worrysome - it chilled his spine. Yet it was during one of his evening walks he heard the rumour of a Ms. Goodheart having just left Roderic's Cove, and that she was heading to Riddleport. By morning he had packed all his belongings from his attic, and he set off to Riddleport. "The Blot...it churns my stomach. Something's coming. I can't shake off this feeling. I have to be there, I have to stop it...!" DESCRIPTION:
