Savage Steel

Homebrew and House Rules

I have been working on and off again for the last 10 yrs on developing a "barbarian" level campaign, much like the world of Conan the barbarian, but with a bit more fantasy in it.
Does anyone know of any books which would help me find some of the minor things I am missing, mainly equipment and or magic items that would be appropriate to such a setting? I have Stone to Steel as my main reference book, but was wondering if anyone else had books, aside from the Conan RPG ones, that would work well with such a idea.

Barbarians

Also the Complete Rangers, Celts campaign sourcebook, and Viking campaign sourcebook would be good resources.

Obviously just for ideas since they are for AD&D 2e

Grand Lodge

You might also take a look at Iron Heroes. It was written by Mike Mearls. It is essentially a variant 3.5 Player's Handbook that was written with relatively low magic campaigns in mind (though it still retains a "fantasy" feel to it)...

Sounds like you're looking for something with a little more magic than that (though I could be wrong), but it does have some EXCELLENT ideas to cherry-pick from IMHO...

It can be found HERE on PDF...

Try also Testamant ($2!) and possibly the other GR real-world books. They might come in handy.

Nabbing the Testamant book for sure, and I am tracking down all the 2nd Ed. completes as is, knew I shouldn't have tossed them all back in the day.
