My games are mashup of the two systems. I convert what I can in 3.5 to Pathfinder. My reasons being
1) They're backwards compatible
2) Pathfinder has very little "crunch" material and me and my gaming group rather see more crunch. We have all the "fluff" we need. Pathfinder lacks prestige classes, multiclass feats, and other things WotC released that PF has yet to reproduce.
I also do not like how many of the core spells were severely nerfed and I am no fan of using GP in place of XP for spell costs, either.

some ona notice, the light, and darkness spells and theyre progressions in the pfrpg are really useless?
why every update rules some spells and every spell caser suffer a degradation like that
i remember in 2nd ed, the light spell can even blind to one person
haste was more useful, and make the user 1 year older
cripping doom and meteor swarm was the most destructive spells
now its the same to recieve those spells or take a shower...
the evasions abilities degree the sepllcaster
and i still miss to the party screaming:
"the wizard is casting something, protec him"
against the cliche "i cast this spell"
Paizo crew, this is a new set of rules, pfrpg is something awesome and new, plz give me back the casting time option like in 2nd edition, i dont care if this pop up like an alternative rule of casting... just tell me how i can make it (and if you can print it in um2 or something like that, to say to my players, "its in the book, its an official rule... sorry)

Darkness and light are made appropriate to the new illumination rule paizo made for PF. And it works ok...but unless you have learned to operate with degrees of illumination, i guess they are useless to you.
If you haven't noticed, spellcasters in PF have more HP, more special abilites and specialists can cast spells from opposing schools now. Yes, they nerfed darkness a little...they ruined wizards! The class is unplayable!2nd ed was different, and broken without heavy houseruling, i remember having a notebook with 60 or so pages of house rules for 2nd edition, before we switched to 3e.

I agree, meteor swarm is kinda lame for a 9th level spell. But creeping doom is quite effective at what it does.

Well, not only spellcasters should get nice stuff...and only rogues and rangers get evasion enyway.

Make it yourself and put it on this forum for testing. We wil gladly test those alternative rules. Paizo probably has much better things to do then pull stuff from the editions older then 3e.

I use the Spell and Magic Item Compendiums when placing treasure, since I am always happy to have more options for magic items and introduce exotic spells from 3.5e as rewards for casting characters. I also don't mind adapting feats, PrCs, or spells from the Forgotten Realms books if requested since I generally game in the Forgotten Realms setting. Other than that Pathfinder pretty much has me covered, though if a player really wanted a 3.5e option I'd probably work with them if it wasn't too ridiculous.
