I seem to recall that from getting into fist fights when I was an adolescent. The next day I would feel achy from head to toe, simply from the sudden muscle exertion and any of the places I was hit or kicked would be apparent.
This is the first time I've been in an accident that was anything more serious than a bump in a crowded parking lot going 2 or 3 miles per hour. We weren't going very fast at all when it happened, we were slowed down at a red light and about to turn right when the guy in the lane next to us suddenly veered over and slammed into the back of our car. He was probably only going between 35-40 mph and we were going maybe 20 mph.

Wow, what was he thinking?
Guys, we are experiencing a rough time (pbp-wise). With Ragnvald's absence, Kosti's wish to leave, Nymeria's rather spotty posting the whole campaign has defined slowness anew :(
Any ideas for a solution besides quitting and giving up?

It was grand and fun, and really defined whackadoo crazy (whats not to love about the nutty poems the party kept spitting) but hey that much crazy is a bit like sugar - there's only so much one can take before one has to put it down again.
Perhaps our great and fun experiment has run its race?
HoRun/HoRid/HoL are running quite well, so is HoD except for Alchy being absent for a short break (can only fly so far so fast, and lacking Teleport or the like it's the best/safest/quickest option!) so it's not all a loss. I didn't want to slow HoRun, but Harry got too worried about the possibility of spies, and now he's certain there's spies.
That said, things ARE a little slow in the wider PbP circuit, to the point even I am considering running some PFS scenarios :p

Yah, you tried sanity in a room full of nutters, not realising that the only real way to play was to board the Crazy Train :)

I would love to see the campaign keep going. It has been tough with the spotty posting recently. On one side, really like Jez and the goofy group. On the flip side, I am definitely in too many campaigns at this point.
Personally, I do not mind the slower pace of this campaign. On the flip side, having both of our arcane casters being mostly absent has made decision making and role playing a little tough.

Thanks guys, I kind of feel like I got my ass handed to me today but I'll live for sure. My kid is keeping me up and moving around, which hurts like hell, but I suppose it helps keep the muscles from stiffening too much.
@ZZ - That's a good question. My first thought was that the guy was drunk, but when he got out and approached us to check on us I didn't smell any alcohol. He was talking and acting a little strange though, and he had a 6-year-old boy in the car with him (I think his grandson because he was a much older gentleman). I told the cop my suspicions and later the cop told me that he didn't smell any alcohol either and his walking wasn't impaired, the cop said that he thinks the guy had what they call a "senior moment", lol.

Unfortunatly, kids in the car don't seem to stop people from driving under the influence of alcohol. I had a customer come into the shop with his little boy (around 6 years old, too), buy an icecream for the boy and a shot of fig vodca for himself, even consuming it in shop. I called the cops once I saw he got behind the wheel after leaving the shop (I had my hopes up there was another driver...silly me):-|

Take care Twilightrose... and I've now found that the muscle soreness sets in two days after the event in question. Which means my Tuesday isn't going to be fun after getting soundly thrashed in the epee tourney today.
Oh, a fencer?!?! awesome!! i fenced foil in college, wife did epee. (she got her B rating in USFA, quite a feat IMHO) if you ever feel like discussing fencing, pm me. im out of touch but still love the sport)

Heh - been doing it a grand total of four months... so not exactly anywhere near any good at it. But it is good fun, indoor (hence air conditioning, hence possible in Malaysia), and one of the few socially acceptable methods of stabbing people with sharp pointy objects.
About all I can talk about is how I prefer the french grip over pistol... and how brutal it is to be forced to actually exercise properly again for once. The current coach used to coach the national program here... and has a fairly robust idea of what we should be capable of :)
Meowzebub is a lapsed afficionado as well I believe.

I'd like to see HOJ continue, but if not if it's just beating a dead horse. I really enjoy Mobo and the dynamic of the majority of the party. It can be a fun party, but with the sporadic updates from some of the players it can make the cohesion a bit difficult. If it continues, awesome. If not, then we can only assume that Mobo becomes unchallenged Supreme Ultimate Emperor of all goblinoids.

I surely don't want to be one of the sporadic posters who killed HOJ. I assure you I follow it closely and (more or less) daily. If I don't post all that much it is because I don't find a way for Kosti do act that much beyond reacting. If he keeps quiet it is best to assume he follows around trying not to draw much attention to himself. I am keeping up with combat actions.
So don't kill HOJ because of me.

It's not just you, its the sporadic posting in general making it hard to keep immersion and cohesion. And in some cases Sporadic is pretty much 'absenteeism' :p I think it started strong, but things do come to their natural culmination point and then start to quietly tip off.
It was always a difficult case, fun, but difficult :p

Nothing to do with the campaign - I just find that without electronic resources I get a little too distanced from the crunch and can't follow what's going on.
Cheers,
Zadlu / Mark

As I have told people in the past, if you are unsure of what to post, ask. If you are going to be absent, post that you are going to be away. If you suddenly find yourself lost in the wilderness without a cell phone for 3 weeks, I can understand 0 posts. But, if you have access to the internet or know you are going to be doing something - finals, new job, trip to the north pole. Post and let everyone else know what you are doing. We know that Attalas is a naive goodhearted brute. That Mobo is a good goblin with a bit of a mischief side and an ever growing case of megalomania. That Jez is excessively talkative with no common sense filter. That Ragnvald is an ornery sob who prefers action with bloodshed to any alternative. And that Nymeria seeks to keep the rest of us from making poor choices that are likely to get us all thrown out of whatever town, city, nation, or plane we happen to be visiting.
The key, is just keep us updated. If you post on line posts:
Attack-goblin:
Damage
With nothing else, not a description of how your sword cleaved the miserable creature for neck to navel, or how the swing went so wide that even Attalas was afraid of getting hit. Then I will get annoyed. I know that you all are good posters, I have seen it in the pile of other campaigns I am in with you.
I have said it in the past, I think this is a good group and I would love to see how they develop. To see Attalas become the ogre warlord of the world. For Mobo to become Mobo the Kid. For Ragnvald to tour the world bringing carnage across the land by challenging local heros to combat to the death. And for Jez and Nymeria to become the draconic spawn they are.
In other words, lets keep this campaign going. Lets finish the epic gobugulfen-yeti war and find the damn red thief.

Yep. Fenced in college and was pretty good at the time. There is a local group here I should look into, as Mark provides a good example. I always tell people it is like playing chess while physically assaulting your opponent....good fun.

my college coach always called it "moving chess" (right after saying "it's a stupid sport--you're poking each otehr with steel!")

So this song has been stuck in my head all day today for no apparent reason. I have come to understand, however, that it sums up my feelings for my ex.

I prefer this one... I had an ex it was truly appropriate to,and couple like this... and only one, a girl from Poland, left me like this :p.
Edit: Mind you, some time later she called my mother to have a cry and explain she felt like this. I remained 'unmoved'.

I love that you referenced Motley Crew, Guns and Roses, Poison and Cinderella all in one post :D I do not love that the Poison video showed me the frowny face saying that this video is blocked in my country do to copyright issues.

Haha, I was listening to GNR today and got to thinking about the Dio halfling in the the halflings book. Made desire a halfling bard based on Glenn Danzig. Savage Skald perhaps.
WHAT THE HELL!?!Maybe not.
