Ok, looking for some input here.
I have seen this multiple times in games I have applied for, and in the one I am running.
The DM asks you "How do you reconcile growing up in Magnimar and being a Savage Skald?" or "Your heirloom weapon is a greatsword, but you are playing a wizard. Why?"
And the player responds: "Well, that is something that I plan on developing in the game." or "What do you think I should do?"
Do these people really plan on getting selected? Or are they just posting apps because it is fun to create more work for the DM?
Mhm...depends on the player. Check the account: how many posts/how many active campaigns/how weird are his other chars etc.
Some people are just starting out. But it does pay to look at general posting history.

G&*&$%n this character gets the crappiest HP rolls ever, haha. So it being 8th level, I have a question. I was always planning on putting my next ability score increase to bring my 15 strength up to 16 and get the little damage boost, but do you guys think that I should invest it in my 13 constitution to make 14 and help pad my crappy max HP?
@ Kirk - more Strength = more damage and if its dead quicker then its not hurting you or us anymore. Thats a personal feeling of course as there are other advantages to a higher Constitution like Fort save.
Kirk, does the bonus hp due to higher constitution affect every level you've advanced or only the levels will advance from here?
Another question to keep me straight. Where do Duskwarden's reside and where to Nightscarves reside?
The HP bump is retroactive. The same for Int boost and skill points.
from the PFsrd - "Permanent Bonuses: Ability bonuses with a duration greater than 1 day actually increase the relevant ability score after 24 hours. Modify all skills and statistics as appropriate. This might cause you to gain skill points, hit points, and other bonuses. These bonuses should be noted separately in case they are removed."

Kirk: I'm with Cairn. You don't kill htings by spending hit points, you kill them by damaging them. Like Patton said: "You don't win a war by dying for your country, you win a war by making some other bastard die for HIS country!"
Also, think of it this way: boosting your con will give you 8 more HP. Is the difference between 45 hp and 53 hp significant enough to sacrifice +1 hit/damage? *shrug*

EDIT: Truth is on that, though, I've already agreed to let her father take her for Spring Break.
I have also heard that if you say you dis/like any given race and they are always guilty/innocent you get excused pretty quickly.

You live in bible land, just tell them that you know a lot of carpenters who would have done a better job than that guy 2000 years ago. That should get you dismissed quickly.
A question Zyren, Feytharn, and any other German speakers in the thread: Do you know of/run any German Language play-by-post games?
I need practice with my German writing skills, and a PBP would be both entertaining and regular.
No, sorry I do not know a German Language based PBP. However, I think it is a good idea, as I practice my English right now ;)

Ich lerne Deutsch seit die letzten 7 Jahre, aber habe ich nur 2 Deutschkurse gemacht.
Meine Frau (eine Deutsche) wollte in Deutschland blieben, und ich wollte nicht in Michigan zu blieben.
Ich frage mich ja, ob es für euch genauso witzig zu lesen ist, was ich auf Englisch schreibe, wie es für mich ist, eures zu lesen :)
Also, gegen einen PBP auf Deutsch hätte ich nichts, bin mir aber nicht sicher, ob wir genug Spieler dafür zusammen kriegen?!

Ich studiere Deutsch auch gerade und wuerde gern einen PBP auf Deutsch spielen, Ich muss nur schauen ob ich es schaffe... Ich konnte vielleicht aus Heart of Journeys ziehen, aber dann wuesste ich nicht was die Bescheuerten da ohne Nymeria machen wuerden!
Don't worry T-Ron, I am pretty sure that the ogre and the goblin are going to eat Nymeria before long anyway.

Hello Folks,
I am just giving a heads up that I will be away on vacation with the family next week. We will be gone basically Sunday through Saturday. I will have my little Ipod so I may be able to post some small things in the evenings provided that the hotel has a good internet service. However, if I am absent, that is the explanation. I am sort of limited as the only game I have the books for that is less than 20 years old is PF. I still have Star Frontiers, AD&D, Basic D&D, 2ed D&D, Boot Hill and Gamma World, but I doubt anyone else has those, or wants to play them.

Eine andere Möglichkeit währe ein deutsches Forum, wie Aktion-Abenteuer (ehemals Blutschwerter - nicht die freundlichst community, aber wir können ja unter uns bleiben ;-)). Ich habe allerdings keine Ahnung von den Forenfunktionen hinsichtlic PbP Runden (die dort aber stattfinden)
Or we could use a German messageboard like Aktion-Abenteuer, (formerly known as Blutschwerter, not the most likable community, but we could stay more or less apart). I don't know about messageboard mechanics for PbP, though (but there are PbP games going on).
I know that an Italian PBP existed that had several thousand posts - I don't think they will get mad at us, just because we write in German.
The question is whether you want it hardcore German PBP or not :)
If the first one is your goal, I would recommend you get the German rulebook of whatever system we agree on :)

Hmm, is there a PRD somewhere in German? (I don't see any on Ulisses Spiel's website.) There is a PDF of the core rules available for 10 Euro.
Was the SRD translated?

Here it is, alas I don't know how much of the rules content is actually there, last time I checked it was still work in progress.
