No, we just see a young black girl with white hair. As I'm pretty sre Cerebro doesn't reach to Garundi, I think that was to be Storm. This is my vote for a 'reboot' Ororo

Don't worry PW, she's not. lol
So you can go see the movie with a relief that all is well...
BUT... For the defense of the cause: She wasn't THAT bad in the two first ones.

No she really was. I know her part wasn't big in either movie but it's rare (outside of Keanu Reeves) to see an actor be that wooden and disinterested. After reading some interviews with her and her attitudes towards the XMen franchise in general I understand why I disliked her so much.
@Mathew Morris - excellent choice for a reboot Ororo. She was one of my all time favourite XMen and I loved when she became the leader of the group. Hell I even liked her when she lost her elemental powers.
Here's a thought - what era of the comic book (just talking Uncanny X-Men here - no other X-books allowed!) do you guys most relate to? What was your intro and/or exit from the book?
For myself I started collecting XMen just at the tail end of the Dark Phoenix Saga. About issue 134. Of course I had to track down every issue back to about 105 and collected them for years until about 230(?) with the Fall of the Mutants. By then I was out of university and working 2 jobs just to make rent and really couldn't afford comics anymore (and other hobbies took over).

Her attitude doesn't bother me at all. Brent Spiner's general dislike of Trek didn't stop him from putting on masterful performances as Data. I just don't think the movie writers never realized just how much depth there is to the Storm character and simply didn't put an effort to make a decent vehicle in the movies.
My entrance to the X-Men is pretty much the original blue suited group, Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Iceman, and Beast (without the later fur)

Fair enough. I do think Storm got ample screen time in the first movie and Berry did little with it. Good actors can often add more to a character than any writer.

Ooooo old school! I really got to appreciate those original issues when I started collecting the "Classic X-Men" Essential line from Marvel. Black & white reprints may not be the greatest but the stories from that era were excellent.

The difference is that Halle Berry did not display the same work ethic as Brent Spiner. Her performance really was the only thing more wooden than the set.
Great choice on the woman from BSG. Of course twenty years ago when we were dreaming about an X-Men movie, many thought Vanessa Williams was the obvious choice, so we'll have to wait and see who else rises to the top between now and then.
For me the relevant era was all of Chris Claremont's staggering 18 year run when he ultimately was writing 40 titles a month. In my opinion, the Marvel universe was never more coherent.
I got into X-Men around issue 160. I was collecting until after issue 300. I, too, went back and collected past issues. I probably got down to issue 75 or so. The most amazing moment for me as a collector, but moreso as a reader and fan, came when I was 17. My grandmother called me to say that she had found a stack of old comics when she was cleaning out her house in preparation for sale. She brought them over and, lo and behold, there sat issues 1 and 2! Apparently, my grandfather had bought a dollar's worth of comics every week when they went to the grocery store. As he had died only a year or so before, it was great to have a connection with a man whom I never really shared much of a relationship even though we had lived together.

I got into the X-men between the Mutant Massacare and FotM, though classic X-men made it easier to get caught up. So I've always felt sorry for Maddie (despite several years of Marvel trying to remove any redeeming qualities from the character), and thought Scott was a sleezoid.*
I don't mind the 'mix and match' X-men. I think I posted my X-men 4 plot somewhere on these boards, so I'd not repeat it.
I'd love to see Miss McClure play a big screen super hero. Vixen, Storm, Frenzy, anything. I enjoyed her work in BSG.

I thought this was a great movie, best movie I've seen this year actually. It had everything I wanted in a super hero movie and found it "realistic", the bad guys were actually bad ass for once.
Go Azazel!
PS. I read X-Men from 1979 to 1989, and of course there were some character changes, but it didn't bother me.

Yeah.....I totally rooted for the Goblin Queen.

Eh. Not enough to dampen my enjoyment of watching Magneto hunting Nazis in Argentina. Fun stuff.
A bit late to the party but I would pay good money to see a movie that was nothing but this.
Heck, you could make it an anthology. Magneto's Greatest Nazi Huntin' Hits. Ian McKellan could play old-Magneto reflecting on the old days as the framing device.
