When Fox attacks: Network cancels 'Human Target,' 'Chicago Code,' 'Lie to Me,' more

Guess I have no reason to watch Fox anymore

While I'm dissapointed that Chicago Code, Human Target, and Breaking In were cancelled, even surprised about some of them, there's still Fringe, and the new shows Alcatraz and Terra Nova.

I'm actually more dissapointed with some of the other networks' cancellations than with Fox's.

I'm sad about Human Target. I am kind of surprised CW isn't more eagerly promoting their comic properties though, like Disney is with ABC/Marvel.

I was happy to see Fringe survived the Friday night move, and look forward to Alcatraz.

I was a fan of all three, especially Lie to Me, but I can see why they were canceled. Human Target is an awesome but campy show, Chicago Code is a hard cross between political drama and police procedural (great for me, but tough in terms of general audience), and Lie to Me has fully exhausted the strength of its hook (microexpressions and reading people).

Fringe's renewal makes up for all this.

I liked Human Target, my roommate liked Lie to Me and my uncle and aunt were just telling me at Easter how much they like Chicago Code!

Gah. Fox, why do you torment us so!

I was on the fence about V (the protagonists continuing to be plot dumb and do the numbingly obvious exact wrong thing was giving me Heroes flashbacks) and thought of No Ordinary Family as brain-candy anyway. Still shaking my head that Stargate Universe is out and Sanctuary somehow continues to survive. Wow.

Smallville's also gone.

Not so much fantasy/sci-fi/superhero stuff out there in the upcoming season...

At least Smallville chose to end.

It does amaze me, though, watching the finale, how much a movie coming up on 25 years old, influences the live action adaptations of the character.

We should be grateful Adam West didn't have similar impact ;-)

Unfortunate. However, this is FOX- they're cancel-happy.

I can still hold out hope for when (when, not if) one of their shows get cancelled.

Yes and no. They canceled The Event which I actually liked which is one more sci fi down, however they're bringing in something new that makes me hate NBC less.

Grimm, is going to be a story based loosely on Grimm Fairy tales. You have this detective w ho finds out he's from a line of Hunters who protects normal people from supernatural creatures. Basically its a cop version of Supernatural or Angel or Buffy ... but I'll watch it.

I'm pretty much only watching HBO and Comedy Central these days. That's where all the good stuff is anyway.

Agree and adding USA to that list

HBO, Comedy Central, USA, and tacking on AMC and perhaps A&E to the list.

Very sad about Human Target (though the 1st season was hugely better than the somewhat lackluster 2nd).

I knew it was in trouble when they fired the guy who gave them their only Emmy nomination, and only had it confirmed when they neutered Gurerro. (though at least we got to see 'Old Gurerro' at his finest in the finale. "It was just business." Indeed.

And I HATED Ames. The actress' obivious assets couldn't stave off the annoying nature of the character. She was Scrappy Doo, with breasts.

Oh yes. All of this. Exactly how I felt (but her "assets" weren't even as obvious as I would have liked them to be. I didn't even get that).

My two shows got renewed: Supernatural and AMC The Walking Dead. Both shows are bad ass.

Sorry to hear about your shows. I still regret that they never finished "Millenium" off properly... the last season was epic and the canceled season would have been amazing. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

THAT, and their decisions on what shows they cancel has NOTHING to do with how good they are. I just watched the Sarah Conner Chronicles through for the second time, now that it is on amazon prime instant video. That show was the most phenomenal, smart, dark, badassed, and gripping show on network TV that I have seen in years.

Why they killed that show boggles my mind, and tweeks my nerd-rage. It doesn't even make sense on a business level, to cancel a revenue stream that was going to be supported by forthcoming (and as it turns out somewhat lackluster) action movie.

So yeah. If you see something you like on Fox, don't expect it to stick.
