Okay, so I was wondering what would happen if a fireball explodes near to a person wearing a necklace of fireballs.
example:
"Player 1" wears a Necklace of Fireballs type IV, and "Enemy 1" casts fireball into player 1's occupies space.
1. Would the necklace be counted as in the area of effect of the fireball, and if so would the necklace be saved by a relfex for half, or reflex for no damage through evasion?
2. Would all the globes go off at once, and would the damage stack, dealing a total of 36d6 damage not counting the spellcasters damage?
3. Would player 1 require more reflex save(s) for the exploding globes, if #2 is applicable and how would you determine the DC?
4.would you prefer regular fried or extra crispy?

PRD:If the necklace is being worn or carried by a character who fails her saving throw against a magical fire attack, the item must make a saving throw as well (with a save bonus of +7). If the necklace fails to save, all its remaining spheres detonate simultaneously, often with regrettable consequences for the wearer

You could find the answer by reading the item's entry.
The necklace only makes the save if the person with it fails the save. So the necklace sitting by itself in an area effect technically doesn't even have to make a save.
So yes, it's counted in the area of effect. If the player with it makes their save, nothing happens. Only if the player fails their save does the necklace have to make its own save.
If the necklace fails to make its save, all of the remaining spheres detonate.
Yes, he'd have to save against every detonation, and so would anyone else within range. The DC is determined by the item (Reflex DC 14).
Again, ALL of these can be answered just by reading the item's description.

In the case of evasion, a failed save is still a failed save. Even if you're taking half or no damage from the fireball, you failed your save, so the necklace has to save too.
The only way to take no damage is to make a save. Exception(some form of energy resistance)--->If you have fire resistance or protection from energy and it eats up all the damage then I don't think the necklace should explode since it is assumed that it has to take fire damage in order to go off.

Does the wearer have to make each save separately if he fails the initial reflex?

Yes. Each sphere is really its own device. They are attached to the same necklace. If you look at the pricing you will see that you have to add the individual spheres together to get the total price of a necklace.
edit:I think this also give the wearer a better chance of not dying which is why it is done that way.
