SBPers, here's where we're going to chronicle our Kingmaker campaign. Character biographies must be posted by midnight on April 26th. I'll post a roster of PCs once everyone lets me know who and what they're playing.

Misspellings, I fear, will most likely reign here in weeks and months to come. I was simply setting the pace for the inevitable.

Look under "My Account"--->"Messageboard Settings" to change the pic.

Lol Inevitable it is.

Hey Mr.Flanigan, i found some free software that might be useful for creating our characters. the link is here: sourceforge.net/projects/pcgen

I've created my character on it already, although it was a little complicated. I just wanted to know if I should use this or do it the traditional way (I'll just transfer the info from the software if you need us to create the characters another way).

Thus begins the aforementioned spelling errors. lol

We know PCGen around these parts. :) If you look through the forums you'll find a few other homemade PC creators. my personal favorite is the Hero Lab version, the one I use on my laptop at school. Hero Lab isn't free though (although the demo is). It's regularly updated to include all of the feats, items, spells, etc from all of the Pathfinder books.

Can you print up the character sheet and show me Tuesday afternoon? We'll run it through Hero Lab and make sure everything looks good.

Also, let's try to put any "real world" stuff behind cuts (look at the BBCode tags box under the reply window for the directions to "spoilers"). That will make finding the journal entries easier.

uhh i think i did it...maybe not.

Ostog's Background

Ostog, son of Ivar Wolfkiller was born in the Southern part of Brevoy, In the patch of wilderness known as the Shadow lands. His mother died when he was born and he lived with his father. Ostog is enthusiastic, Friendly, at times overzealous, but has a good spirit and a good heart. As a young boy, Ostog was always one with nature. Whenever he wasn't working with his father, he would just walk around the forest and learn about his surroundings. To raise his skills, he would hunt the sneakiest of animals and try to catch them. At age 12, his father got him a black mustang. He named it Swiftwind. When Ostog was 16, his father was heading home from the city of Restov. He was attacked by a group of bandits in front of his home. As Ostog heard the feud going on, he headed out side and tried to help his father. He was able to scare away the bandits, but it was too late. His father was dead. Ostog promised from that day forward, he would protect the helpless and innocent. Now, he has joined a group of friends to clear the land of evil and restore peace to all of Brevoy.

The Tale of Kairas Stenveil:
In the capital of Brevoy, stories of a young rogue are told, stories that tell of grand theft. These are the feats of a young man by the name of Kairas. Kairas Stenveil was born in a small cottage along the East Sellen River, his father had built the house in order to escape from his old life as a pirate of the northern ports. Kairas' mother died during childbirth, for she was always feverish. Kairas, because of this, was unusually pale (even for an elf) and had sad purple eyes with a glowing, scar shaped discoloration across the pupils that were rumored to be his downfall. He spent most of his years within the house with his father, Gilren , who taught him from a very young age to be perceptive and aware of everything that goes on around him. Once Kairas turned 57, Gilren took him out into the City. There, for 13 years, Gilren taught him to read people: their actions, their faces, their minds. He also educated him in the art of the bow and dueling (a skill Gilren learned through his days as a swashbuckler) and taught him to use intellect to solve problems as well as to start them. Then one morning when Kairas awoke, Gilren was gone. Kairas was still to young to provide for himself legally, so he began stealing from royals and commoners alike. He resided in the harsh parts of Brevoy alone for 20 years until a man who went by the name of Arma approached a nearby food stall while Kairas was looking for a target. Kairas attempted to pick his pockets to the best of his abilities, but failed. Expecting to be apprehended or beaten, he took off; Arma slowly followed him. When Kairas stopped to take a quick breath, Arma appeared seemingly from out of thin air. Instead of punishing the boy, Arma took him into his thieves guild. As time went on, Kairas excelled past all others in the guild, even Arma himself. On his 121st birthday, Kairas was assigned with a task : To steal 900 platinum pieces from House Lodovka. For 2 years Kairas prepared and embarked on his journey. Once there, he followed through with his plan flawlessly: he disguised himself as a wealthy trader coming from Egede, snuck into House Lodovka, and made his way into the treasury of the castle. While Kairas took the time to plan out all scenarios, he failed to consider one factor : His Father. Gilren had left Kairas to return to his old life as a pirate but instead, he became the personal bodyguard for the Duke of the Lodovka family. Kairas slipped into the treasury, and there he found the Duke of Lodovka and his father. Trying to stifle his surprise, he assumed the role of his disguise. It succeeded in deceiving both of them, but as soon as they were about to leave , Gilren noticed something….Kairas’ eyes. He immediately drew his sword and attacked without question. Kairas, caught of guard, failed to dodge the attack and was slashed across his left eye. The two fought until Kairas took hold of the Duke and put a dagger to his throat. Kairas demanded to know the reason why Gilren left him....and Gilren told him that he could not bear seeing Kairas anymore, for he reminded him of his wife, Aeylin, Kairas’ mother and what he did to her. Gilren told Kairas the truth to why his mother died : Gilren’s actions while he was at sea led to a man stabbing Aeylin with a poisoned dagger as a payment to a debt Gilren owed. Gilren could not cure her and alas, she died. Kairas’ unusual eyes was the byproduct of the poison and served as a reminder of the terrible tragedy that took place right before his birth. Kairas was taken aback by the story and The Duke seized the opportunity to draw Kairas’ blade. He drew back and stabbed Kairas in the stomach. Kairas stumbled back in pain and fell .The Duke loomed over him, about to deal the final blow, when Gilren dashed forward and the blade pierced through his chest. Kairas, eyes ablaze, used the last amount of strength he had to launch forward and stab the Duke with a hidden stiletto, disemboweling him. The royal guard was storming into the halls of the treasury as Kairas held his dying father in his arms; Gilren asked if he was forgiven, Kairas said he always was. Gilren died in Kairas’ arms and was laid to rest. The royal guard broke through the treasury door……but there only lay the body of the Duke and Gilren. Kairas Stenveil seemed to disappear off of the face of the earth. Some had reported seeing a dark figure with unusual purple eyes (one now glass) lurking in the shadows of the land and believed it to be Kairas, but the guards just inform them that Kairas is now just a phantom in the wind, searching for his resting place.

The backstory for Hilanbobot Peelgade

People speak of a gnome sorcerer who is fabled for his prowness in the arcane arts. The same people also speak of his utter insanity. He was known for the the expeditions he would lead into the wilderness in search for a troll who, in fact, did not exist. Some say he is a hero among the gnomes, others an idiot who cannot tell the difference between the illusions he casts and reality. Hilanbobot Peelgade is that gnome.

He is familiar with the woods of Brevoy, yet he claims "the forest changes and speaks to me, mocking my every action."

Very astute observation. It needs much more development.

Ratheric- backstory

Ratheric born in Eastern part of Brevoy he was strong at birth, and his father deimos was only there to rise him from his birth due to Ratheric’s mother being dead from illness from giving birth to Ratheric. Deimos started training Ratheric in the art of combat at a young age. First he started with a dagger to get the hang of things with a blade. Deimos holding a elven curve blade swings at Ratheric with the blade Ratheric blocks with the dagger only to return the favor with a quick jab to the rib stop deimo’s next attack. He trained with that dagger till he was able to master that weapon, then he was given a short sword half the size of him. His skills was grow though out the weeks since they first started. Their training lasted for years on end till one day in the forest deimos and Ratheric was walking back home till a 4 orcs showed up from out of no where and attacked deimos with his elven curve blade but a quick Ratheric blocked the attack and the force of the attack knocked Ratheric and deimos back to a tree. Deimos got the worst of the attack the sword impaled most of his rib cage in and layed there motionless. Ratheric got up to see his father not moving, enraged by this vision of his father laying there. He grab his short sword and prepared for the battle of his life, in a flash his sword cut though the other orcs in no time. Only he and the orc with his father’s sword stood in silent, you are strong said the orc how bout u work under me. A more angered Ratheric looked at him with cold eyes and said your weakness is in how you gang on people to use there own weapons against them. YOUR WEAKNESS DISCUSS ME and cut though to orc with only one slice. Ratheric now dealing with the pain of losing his father takes his sword and say father I will keep your memory alive with your sword and defeat the evil in this world only then shall I’ll peace. Ratheric continue to walk this path till one he teams up with of other races and befriends a man named Thovan the wander, his story is only just beginning a new adventure is start to unfold and his destiny is about to be awaken.

If everyone else drops the ball, we've got a full party (that is, assuming ja expands his background).

I'll be checking back in sometime before dawn. Wonder if anyone else will join the party before then...

Then again, maybe we don't. How do we feel about a party of five? And, given that three of you are fighter-types, does anyone want to consider changing? Entire up to you guys.

Ideally, you guys need someone to do some healing; you're looking at either a cleric, druid, oracle, or inquisitor.

I think a group of five is fine. As long as Jonathan doesn't go insane, We'll be fine lol

It al began with my father. He was a respected man. Everyone looked up to him. He was our town protecter. He was trained very well and his was in perfect condition. He got good traits from his father. He was all about the fighting and he told told me that one day i will become the towns protecter. I wanted to believe it but me and him were to different people. He liked hand to hand combat. While i like hitting the books and learning how thing works. You see i wasn't in the best physical shape. So i started to learn magic to make up for it. one day i went off to practice in the forest where no one can see me. After the practice i started to walk toward the town. As i look toward the sky , i saw smoke and the follow the smoke back to my home. my town was attacked. Ash started to fall like snow. There were no survivors. I rush looking for my dad. I found him under a pile of dead bodys. Tears started to run down my face. that day i swore to get my revenge. Revenge for my people and live the life of avenger.

Who are you

Thovan has always been very fond and caring for nature for as long as he can remember. He was born in a small forest called "The Hidden Leaf Forest".Being an only child of a Druid family, gave him plenty of time to spend with his natural environment. His father Drako and mother teached him how to be one with nature and with the living animals that inhabit the environment. As time progressed,so did his knowledge of the living nature. His father Drako saw Thovans intelligence and wisdom grow impressively. It soon occured to Thovan that he could no longer stay in the small forest any longer.Thovan had decided that he would like to explore other places and learn even more.Drako had no intention of trying to stop his son,for Thovan was becoming mature by forging his own path. Thovan had decided on traveling with a small group in search of learing more about nature. Drako told Thovan how proud he was of him and how he knew he would become a great Druid.Thovan had made his choice and said "Goodbye" to his parents and began his journey.
