i guess we'll just wait a few rounds until raviel is healed, and then we should go on, unless anybody needs to anything else first?

"Well, I apparently don't hear anything beyond this door. Who wants to to open it?"

Male Oakling Ranger 2 / Rogue 1

Moves forward to grasp at the door handle...

Raviel cracks his neck a couple of times "Alright, lets get moving"

"Very well. I shall listen at the door to see if the kobolds are trying to sneak up on us while we wait. Momma always said I was a horrible judge of character, but I have a good feeling about this group."

With a slightly manic grin at everyone, Simo moves silently towards the door out of the room.

stealth roll 1d20 + 19
perception roll 1d20 + 10

Simo hears nothing.

Knotted grasps the doorhandle. Nothing happens. It doesn't even seem locked, let alone trapped.

From upstairs comes a sudden shout of "Science! Science will deal with these kobolds no problem ser dwarf!" There is a clamor, and a large scarred orc climbs down from the upper floor, standing tall at the bottom of the ladder.

He is wearing half plate and on his back sits a huge great axe. He seems to be missing several teeth, and strapped all over him are various vials, flasks, and odd bottles.

"Excuse me folks" he says in surprisingly clear Common, "is this where the group who is going to deal with these foul kobolds has met?" Seeing the dead moths he grins, and lets out a hearty orcish guffaw. "I see I missed the party!"

male halfling wilderness rogue sniper 3

"Oh no, my new found friend who seems totally trustworthy, the party is just getting started. And it's a dance party. Where we dance on kobold corpses. And maybe have snacks after."

Simo will position himself so that Aatu is between him and the door, and use him as cover to hide and prepare to fire

stealth roll 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (6) + 19 = 25

"Trustworthy?" Gromgar laughs again. "I don't think I have been called that before! I dare say that I am here because a dwarf is paying me to be here, and I fully intend to collect some...specimens as it where..." Gromgar then wanders over to the moth corpses, prodding at them.

Female Kobold

Huh. Could have sworn I posted this. Sorry, guys.

DC 20 Knowledge (dungeoneering):
These are carrion moths, dangerous carnivores whose tentacles can paralyze victims. Their wings' droning drives listeners to madness.

male human swarm shifter torment, blood, rust, fire skeletal champion lv3 rogue (rake)

"Ah, a new companion, nice to meet you..." Raviel streches a hand for a handshake to Gromgar "and you are?"

Without looking up from the moths, and in fact taking a bit of moth goop and tasting it, Gromgar speaks. "I am known as Gromgar! Genius scientist!" He takes the hand that is offered, and then realizes two things. One: that the hand is very hot. And two: that it is nothing but bones. He looks up to the creature who hand is shaking, eyes wide. "Well this is certainly new..."

male human swarm shifter torment, blood, rust, fire skeletal champion lv3 rogue (rake)

"I am Raviel Vangua, you'll find me rather unique"

Standing up with a bit of moth wing in one hand, Gromgar nods. "Yes, I definitely find you unique..." He takes a bite of wing and chews thoughtfully.

Wiping the spew from his finely trimmed beard, His Excellency notices the newcomer(s).

Hile there! Pleased to meet you! Codwin I of Augustana, Supreme Elect of the Free Peoples of Andoran at your service! Or rather, you at mine, I suppose. Good to see another man of science among the group, now. Always need more science. Science never did a thing to hurt anybody! Speaking of which, if any of you have the need, I can quickly brew a tincture whilst we lounge about that will mend your wounds. It would be the work of only a second. Let me know, eh?

Otherwise, desist with the lollygagging! Andoran has not declared war upon these kobolds for naught! On, Andoran! FOR THE EAGLE!

Prior to the door being opened, Codwin will down his Extract of True Strike.

Male Oakling Ranger 2 / Rogue 1

"On the count of three I open the door....."

"One..."

"Two..."

"Three.."

Female Kobold

Knotted opens the door. Beyond is a dark corridor. It leads twenty feet ahead, then splits off.

Perception DC 20:
You hear a faint rustling down the hallway on either sides of the fork.

Perception DC 25:
It sounds like the clattering of armor.

Let's try a text map.

"v"s represent five feet of empty space.

1d20 ⇒ 1 on my Perception Check. Yay Straight Dice! Oh wow I am too busy nomming the wing!

Gromgar, completely oblivious to any noises really, continues to munch on the tasty tasty wing.

Male Human Werebat Harbinger 1/Stalker 1

The darkly clad man continues to chitter excitedly, especially at the new comer, whom he offers a gloved hand. The entire time his tail swishes back and forth.

One hand holding the wing, the other takes the gloved hand of the chittering creature in front of him firmly. "Nice tail you have there...whatever you are!"

Hmm. It would seem, then, that the question really becomes, am I able to brew an extract that will cure either bad aim or lunacy? I actually can cure bad aim, but alas, I've just imbibed that one myself. I could probably cure lunacy as well, but I simply don't know anyone who's sufficiently crazy to test a formula on! You'd think that somewhere in the vast nation that I preside over, there would be someone crazy enough, but I certainly haven't found him.

Barring that...yes. I can make your pooch feel a bit better. Here, pooch!

Codwin will quickly brew and administer an extract of CLW to Aatu.

Does anyone else hear that rustling sound? I couldn't possibly be imagining it. It sounds like it's coming from the other side of that fork ahead. ON, ANDORAN!

male halfling wilderness rogue sniper 3

" Thank you, your excellency. I am sure Aatu thanks you as well, though I do not presume to speak for him. My aim is actually quite good, and while I am probably a bit insane, neither was the issue in this case. It was the influence of these currently deceased mind enslaving moths. I shall stay to the back as we advance, since my crossbow is my primary method of offense."

Seeking more things to slay Raviel walks down the corridor and looks at what lays at either end

Raviel steps into the intersection. Suddenly, those in the back see four spears jab out at the skeleton.

Brigands! Rogues! FOR THE EAGLE!!!

From the first place that he can see the crossbowmen from (this should still leave me way out of range of the spearmen), Codwin will shake a vial and chuck it at the the archers.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 20 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 20 = 30 This reflects the true strike +20 insight bonus. I should be several range increments away, though, unless I miss my guess.

Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1) + 4 = 6 fire damage, and 6 to all adjacent squares. As part of the splash weapon mastery feat, I can choose an additional square to receive splash damage which has to be adjacent to the squares already receiving it, so if I can catch one of the spearmen in with that, I will.

Raviel:
They are metal, and do degrade.

Hm. The "averaging" tactic is looking better and better, as we pick up more players. Alright. If there are any unrolled Init checks by tomorrow, we'll say they delayed.

Female Kobold

Alright. Init order:
Vaki
Crossbows
Gromgar
Raviel
Simo
Knot
Codwin
Spearmen
Everyone Else, in whatever order

Vaki draws his sword and vanishes. The kobold crossbowmen fire at Raviel.
Attacks: 4d20 ⇒ (16, 12, 17, 15) = 60
Damage: 9, 10, 8 and 13 damage, not counting DR.
Gromgar is up!
In other news, it's really hard to work out level-appropriate challenges for a group that tends to spontaneously acquire new members.

Gromgar shouts "SCIENCE!" and charges up the hallway, drawing his Greataxe as he goes. He charges directly at the first Kobold he can see and attempts to slam his large axe into the creature.

Power Attack, Charge Attack, +1 (+2 charge, -1 Power Attack) to Hit, -2 AC (current AC 16) Hit Roll 1d20 + 9 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 9 - 1 + 2 = 14, Damage Roll 1d12 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17

If a charge is not possible he will walk a full 20 feet forward and hurl a bomb at the first Kobold he can see

Bomb Throw Attack Roll vs Touch AC 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 Damage Roll 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 Splash Damage 3 in 5 Feet, REF SAVE DC 13 for Half on Splash Damage

Female Kobold

It'll take a 30-foot move to get at one of the spearmen. Assuming you do that...
Reflex save: 1d20 ⇒ 18

Gromgar rushes forward and hurls a bomb at one of the spearmen (the upper-left one). The kobold hisses in pain. The one next to him manages to dodge most of the blast, but they both appear mightily displeased.
Raviel is up!

Female Kobold

Whoops, forgot you're wearing heavy armor. Still, your position on the map is a bit too abstract for me to make a fuss over it.

male human swarm shifter torment, blood, rust, fire skeletal champion lv3 rogue (rake)

Raviel will take a 5-foot step closer to the spear-men next to the one that Gromgar is next to. Raviel will claw once each both spear kobolts making sure to rust their armour through

claw attack 1
to hit 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
confirm crit 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

claw attack 2

to wound 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
fire 1d6 ⇒ 2

male halfling wilderness rogue sniper 3

i'm going to wait and see what knot and codwin do. if they don't act this round i'll move down the corridor using stealth until i can see a kobold. move is only 20, but full speed even when using stealth.

Male Oakling Ranger 2 / Rogue 1

Moves forward to assist Raviel and flank opponents....

Your rust ability doesn't seem to affect armor, sorry.

Raviel claws at both kobolds, but they both seem only a little irritated.
Barely not a crit, I fear.
Simo pauses, wanting to see how Codwin will fare.
Knot moves forward and swings at one of the spearmen, but his attack has no effect.
Codwin is up, then Simo!

Female Kobold
Raviel Vangua wrote:

Yeah, it does seem a bit odd. Then again, I don't have the KQ on hand. But it makes some sense: If you're hitting the armor, it'd be a little tricky to also deal damage. Plus, your claws may not carry enough 'rust power' in them. It's like the rust monster's bite.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Alchemist 3

Codwin's action is detailed in my post with my initiative roll up there ^^^

Female Kobold

Sorry, I missed that. Lotsa posts.
Save: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Sadly, the spearmen are too far.

Codwin moves forward, throwing his vial at the crossbowmen with impressive accuracy. While the bomb doesn't explode quite as effectively as Codwin had hoped, the other crossbowman is unable to dodge, and they both appear nastily singed.
NOW Simo is up, then anybody who didn't roll init.

male halfling wilderness rogue sniper 3

i'm going to sneak forward using Aatu and everyone else as cover until i can see a kobold. i think it'll take me a double move, so i won't be able to fire 'til next round.

Perceptions: 4d20 ⇒ (17, 2, 13, 4) = 36

Simo sneaks along the wall. The kobolds do not seem to notice him.

Female Kobold

Seeing the rusting effect Raviel is having on their weapons, the spearmen quickly shift to Knotted.
The spearman Knot attacked steps five feet back.
Attacks (with broken penalty): 4d20 ⇒ (6, 13, 17, 19) = 55
Damages: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 1) = 4
Take 5, 7 and 5 damage.
And anyone else is up. If there're no posts by about tomorrow, Vaki's up.
