Death (DC) versus Death (Marvel)

I put my money on the cute goth chick.

No, Marvel's Death takes her job much more seriously than DC's goth chick Death. It would be no contest really. While DC's Death tries to talk to Marvel's Death, she would be all ready be dead. I mean really dead...

No as Death(marvel) has taken / come to people as a lover (Thanos, Captain Marvel, etc.)that is not necessiarlily true. Also according to Books of Magic Death's last client is Destiny the end of existence whereas Marvel makes it to be part of natural forces bound by/ part of existance. Of course if you go with Death (DC) more as the entity from Blackest Night I might give the edge to Marvel.

Ohh and Once Again Terry Pratchett's Character trumps both contenders.

Scarab Sages

Meh! Cute goth chick death had her own miniseries (two, in fact), and she was named 15th greatest comic book character by Empire Magazine.

Plus: Cute! Goth! Chick!

Death wins!

Silver Crusade

I'll put my money on Death

Might be tough to get odds from the bookies though.

Grand Lodge

Cute Goth Chick for the win.

Death of the Endless wins, just on her own awesomeness. But lets pretend she soft balls it and gives the pretender a chance. Death of the Endless can potentially call on her entire family.

So my choice is "...or death"?

But seriously folks, Pratchett's Death really is the best.

Also, comics are lame. *ducks behind fire shield* =]

Fixed that for you. ;)

Liberty's Edge

*badass heavy metal theme music blares from the entry ramp, pyrotechnics engulf the arena setting fire to the maddened, fist-pumping fight fans and a new challenger enters the fray!*

Unlike those Marvel and DC failures, when this lady kills somebody, they stay dead. Also, she's way hotter than that Bauhaus-listening, Hot Topic salesgirl. Chaos Comics for the win!

Umm a silly stripper with daddy issues yea I don's see it.

Silver Crusade

The perky goth.

She's loved enough that she even showed up at Rick and Marlo's wedding in The Incredible Hulk.

Those are only two of the special abilities that enable Lady Death to win this fight.

+1

Vertigo's Death. Also, alot more fun to read, better merchandizing, and Neil Gaimon was involved.

Oh, and CUTE GOTH CHICK!

Greg

It would probably come down to a game of poker, in which case I'd have to give it to Marvel. It's hard to beat a skull for a poker face.

RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4

What a silly argument, clearly Death would win.

Death of the Endless would win. She hasn't run off on the job, hasn't been killed in an alternate universe, she's talked with Lex Luthor and didn't get angry, and even stopped by Dr. Strange's place during Civil War. She's also got a better bedside manner, doesn't manipulate people, and is a cute goth chick. What's not to like? She'd just charm Marvel's Death into retirement.

Say what now?

I didn't know it either but here is a quote from the wiki about Vertigo's Death.

Wiki wrote:

She made an appearance in the Marvel Universe, at the wedding of Rick Jones and Marlo Chandler in The Incredible Hulk #418 (handing Marlo a hair brush, a visual pun referring to Marlo's recent 'brush with death'). Likewise, she and Dream appeared in a recent issue of New Avengers where they lamented the "sell" of Doctor Strange's home.[17]*17.^ New Avengers #28

My favorite line by Vertigo's Death, was when she was explaining her place in the universe: "I will put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights, and close the door of the universe behind me." This says that she will be the first of the new universe. I think that makes her more powerful than Marvel's Death.

It was the Cute Goth Chick that drew me into the Sandman Comics in the first place..I just hope it's her that comes for me when it is time to go.

If it's strip poker, I am totally for the cute goth chick losing. Naked cute goth chicks are always a win in my book.
