I've gotten a little bored with the PbPs of late. They all stress these crazy ideas like 'balanced characters', and 'party cooperation', and 'plot'.
My idea is to make a Play-by-Post with no fixed player limit. Any characters who are 3rd level go, no matter how you make them. Shaman's Handbook? Orc fighter with 5 Charisma and 22 Strength? Whisper gnome rogue with Skill Focus (stealth)? Gunslinger, ninja, magus or samurai?
As long as it's 3.5 or Pathfinder, it's all good. And level 3. Try and make it level 3.
If there's a paladin in the party, and you want to make an antipaladin, g'wan ahead. If one guy has a 5-page backstory and you want to make a single-sentence, poorly edited Dritz clone (who's that guy again? The reformed mite with the twin falchions, right?), sure.
I'm not quite sure how this will work out, if anybody would be interested or if I am remotely capable of handling it. But I'm going to try.
All interested, pitch your characters. I reserve the right to deny anybody who tries to make their character the king of Andoran, whose character seriously breaks the 4th wall or anybody who actually breaks core rules.
Oh, and no dhampirs. Just on principle.*

And if you're going to make a Pun-Pun clone, at least change the name properly. I don't want to see any "Run-Run"s, or "Wordplay-Wordplay"s.

Very basic rules:
Max hp at first level, average afterwards. Or you can roll. Y'know, whatever's cool.
20 Point Buy or 4d6-lowest for abilities.
Fast xp rate.
If you roll a 20 on a crit confirm, add 2 x multiplier to damage. So, +4 for a dagger, +6 for a shortbow, +8 for a scythe.
I award bonus xp for good roleplaying (yes, there's still roleplaying--hopefully), and for being helpful. Making a combat map, helping me update the flail snail to 3.75 rules, etc. If this damages suspension of disbelief, let me know. Right now I'm assuming any players either have rock-hard suspensions (faulty metaphor, yes)or don't care. Plus, I really need help with that flail snail.
EDIT: And the snail bonus xp goes to the handsome Tricky Owlbear! I'm hoping I can give it the reward before it eats me.
I have a couple of ideas as I said, including an Elven Warblade who goes Eternal Blade, some sort of Soulknife(using Dreamscarredpress's Pathfinder update), a Witch, few others, lol
If you can get a group together, I'd love to try out the Dreamscarred psionic rules. I'm thinking soulknife or psion. Not enough DM's are psionic friendly around these parts!

I have a few other ideas but I'm flexible as to what fits with the party makeup. I've never been huge on melee, but I have an idea for a fandancer dervish.. I don't usually make the weird characters but what can I say, you've inspired me haha.

How does one go about making a mermaid that is stuck in humanoid form without breaking the rules :O.
The main idea would be something like an elf or an undine. Feel free to go about it if you like. I'd prefer to stick to the rules, statwise.

Anyway, Mr Cleaver, if that doesn't work, I can just make an elf & say I was a mermaid. CON penalty goes against the general idea of a hardy underwater creature, but it could be worse. Every character's life has a "porpoise"! Oh god we really must stop haha
