So, as a DM, sometimes you'll need to make up stuff on the fly. It would be nice to be able to generate an NPC instantly without the need of a laptop or computer near by. So, here is my idea:
Someone (not me, because I don't know how to program) should develop an app that can use 3/3.5/PF rules to generate NPCs and Monsters on the fly, and be able to modify and raise levels as needed. This kind of app may exist for iphone users, but I use an Android-based phone.
The current D&D apps are mostly for 4th Edition, or just roll dice, or the GUI's are ugly as balls. There are two Spell book apps, one for PF and one for 3.5, which are nice, but more helpful tools would be nice too.
This could be expanded to use other RPG systems, which would also be cool.
That is a huge job... All that data formatting and fixing, but that is only the first step. Unless you want those NPCs to be, say, Ftr 3/Clr 1/Wiz 2 with Weapon focus for greataxe, Weapon finesse, you also need to put a lot of other thought into the programming.
I would love something like that, though.
The mount of statistical data would be a chore for the programmer, I know. Someone (not me!) do this ;)
