So my Druid just hit level 8, which allows me to become an elephant and trample those foolish enough to anger me, which I'm excited for.
However I don't really grasp how trample works. In the blurb on trample it talks about 'opponents' but overrun takes an action, limiting it to a single target. However having a mouse stop a charging elephant seems odd.
Is there someplace where they elaborate on overrun and trample?

Trample (Ex) As a full-round action, a creature with the trample ability can attempt to overrun any creature that is at least one size category smaller than itself. This works just like the overrun combat maneuver, but the trampling creature does not need to make a check, it merely has to move over opponents in its path. Targets of a trample take an amount of damage equal to the trampling creature's slam damage + 1-1/2 times its Str modifier. Targets of a trample can make an attack of opportunity, but at a –4 penalty. If targets forgo an attack of opportunity, they can attempt to avoid the trampling creature and receive a Reflex save to take half damage. The save DC against a creature's trample attack is 10 + 1/2 creature's HD + creature's Str modifier (the exact DC is given in the creature's descriptive text). A trampling creature can only deal trampling damage to each target once per round, no matter how many times its movement takes it over a target creature.
Pretty much says it all.

No it doesn't.
Is it a standare action taken as part of a move or charge(like overrun), or is it a full round action(not like overrun)?
How far can you move as part of a trample, a single move(move action) or a double move(charge action)?
Does it need to be in a straight line(like a charge), or can you zig- zag(like a move)?
What about the attacks of opportunity from moving, is Trample a separate provoking act(like the standard action part of overrun), or part of the act(sorta like a charge)?
How many targets; one(overrun) or more (like trampling)?

It's a full round action, as stated in the text.

I think you can move up to your speed in any direction you want or charge in a straight line for double your speed.

You provoke attacks of opportunity from the creatures you're trying to trample at a -4 penalty. Other provoked AoO work normally.
How many targets; one(overrun) or more (like trampling)?
As many as you can reach with your speed, but not the same creature twice.
