Is there any way to influence the kid? Like, the next two ideas might be squicky so CW: blood and possession of newborns:
- Drink a vial of whatever's monster blood you can find. Fighting a bunch of Ghouls? Boom: now your baby can grow up to be a melee sorceror. Good luck getting the Impossible bloodline, though.
- Do something that will bring monster's attention to the baby. Good outsiders might help with the delivery and even bless the baby with some additional power. Evil outsiders and vampires, however, might influence the baby's physiology. Yeah, I know that Dhampirs and Tieflings are that way from inception, but if there's a mage, there's a maybe. Plus, if any REALLY evil junk is happening, it might attract Rakshasas that'll try and possess the baby or worse, Lamashtu herself.
It's just a couple of thoughts and I'm fairly certain that someone before me already mendioned these ideas, but hopefully, they give some food for thought.
