Basically cook enough to last you a week, then just keep reheating when you want to eat. That's what my brother does in Arizona as well.

But I still like a hot plate of dou miao for dinner

And that's what I'm trying to do for pizzas, but I only get 3 days worth of breakfast each time I bake after I hand it out to various people.

Each pan makes 12 slices of pizza. I need 2 pieces of pizza a day, I give off 6 slices... Do the maths. Moral of story: I need more pizza.

Or fewer people to give it to.

I really will eat anything.

That's a bad kitty!

Sorry Gran but you got a swimming cat here. I did tell you I often swim like 1 km on weekends, right?

That also works, but you're not telling me I should keep ALL the pizza to myself and not let my family have any?

*Throws Gran a towel*

You need it anyway because you're wet.

No, she doesn't admit it to anyone apparently, which is fine, just worried cause she genuinely doesn't seem to be admitting it to herself.

I dunno if it's some sign of family trouble. I'd ask your sister to talk to her about it since they see each other more often but again it may be seen by your sister as shifting the dirty job

Chocolate covered coffee beans are yummy.

The Exchange

That one, I agree. Do not get me started on those. I have problems stopping. But now the weird part is I’m eating the coffee beans, without having it covered in chocolate.

Again there’s me eating whole wheat pasta after I have it boiled in a bit of salt, because I like the taste as well >.<

I think that means either you have a very delicate palette and you can enjoy the slight nuances in the taste or for you food is food and you'll just eat anything no matter how bland or bitter.

Well we just had a conversation we three, although for clarity's sake I should tell you that my sister is my biological sister while my cousin isn't blood related to me. In my family we tend to pick up strays and once they've hung around a few years they get upgraded to family members. Even making folks who know us well get confused as we don't tend to distinguish between blood family and family we (not legally, usually) adopt. I will however point this out here to cut down on confusion.

So apparently my cousin does know shes pregnant she's just feeling overwhelmed and not sure how to handle it. Apparently the reason she had run away from home back in the day was she got pregnant at fifteen and her mother literally forced her to have an abortion when she didn't want one(I did not know this, how horrible!) She swore she would never have an abortion again under any circumstances but her current lover is this guy we know that, while very attractive is just generally a piece of shit, so they aren't in a relationship its more of a booty call thing.

So my cousin is just overwhelmed and doesn't know what to do as she is only 20 and not well established but my sister offered to adopt the baby so my cousin can be in the baby's life and not have to be responsible for anyone but herself. My cousin seems to be doing much better after that was established.

My sister has already adopted a couple of kids and is a great mom who loves spending all her time on them so it looks like it is all good.

Mort, can you get doner meat pizzas in Singapore?

The Exchange

It does explain why she was acting so weird about her pregnancy.

Yuugasa, probably rather blunt and harsh language:

I don’t exactly blame her mother forcing her to have an abortion despite her not wanting one (sorry, but from the way your cousin has been acting, I don’t think she has the maturity to raise a baby). I do not know if her first baby was because of similar circumstances to this, or was it a case of rape. If it was a case of rape, then there’s no shame in abortion, I feel. There are options for adoption, but I think at 15 – both her and her mother may not know how to get about it. Though the better way to deal with it was to go to a women's shelter.

Ok, but I think your cousin also needs to have the talk. If she wants to do that kind of thing, at least she should do what she can to prevent pregnancies, since kids are a large burden, both in money and time spent. Your sister cannot always bail her out of this kind of situation – your sister also has to upkeep her whole gang of kids.

Though I will say that your sister was very kind to make the offer.

I don't think so, they're usually in kebab form. Unless you're talking about Mort's (TM) not quite doner meat pizza but resembling one.

The Exchange

About where I’m coming from, this is a peek of education in Singapore(yes it costs a bomb).

It takes SGD $100,000 to send a child to a local university

I’m not sure if those figures include tuition fees for extra classes outside of school for better grades.

Unfortunately I think its the latter. I'm really fking indiscriminate in what I'll eat. I don't make a very good food critic because I'm really too easy-going on what I'll eat.

There was once I even ate an orange off an ornamental orange tree. Because it looked attractive. I learnt from the horribly sour taste not to do it again.

The problem is anything that's halfway edible, I'll probably eat it with a grin.

** spoiler omitted **

Well I would hope that no matter where you stand on the abortion issue we can at least agree no one should be forced to lose a baby they want.

Yeah my sister is kind but she doesn't see children as a burden more as hope for the future.

(also she loves that new baby smell=p)

My sister brought up the whole birth control thing and my cousin said she is allergic to latex but is on the pill. Birth control in general isn't 100% effective though.

Regarding the original pregnancy it wasn't rape she was in love.

The Exchange

Yuugasa:

Unfortunately, I don't share your viewpoint on that. Perhaps too many cases of people who don't deserve to be in charge of potted plants did that to me. Having an unprepared single parent to take care of a baby sounds like a recipe for disaster. If you're stressed out(because you have no idea what to do) without family support, having to raise a baby by yourself, you may act out in anger and do something horrible to your baby when he/she starts crying/misbehaving. If you are going to end up abusing your child - then it may be better that you never had a child at all. What for give birth just to give another life(your child) misery?

I feel like I need to launch some flaming bikes.

The Exchange

Yuugasa:

Fair enough, I'll think better of your cousin, because at least she tried taking precautions. I know birth control isn't 100%, so screw ups do happen. I suppose slipping her BF some condoms isn't possible?

I heard diaphragms are silicone, but also you might want to check with Freehold on this kind of thing - I think he's forgotten more things then I know on this subject.

Does spoilering help?

I'm fine with it. I don't know how that hamster will feel about it.

Good morning, everyone!

Mort, have you ever tried making a stromboli?

Mort:
Well, I think forcing an abortion on someone who doesn't want one is in and of its-self a pretty rapey violation of a woman's right to control her body but I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

The Exchange

Yuugasa:

True. This sort of thing has the potential to get political and at the end of the day I can see where you're coming from, but for me I tend to be a greater good rather then personal freedoms kind of person. I agree that forcing an abortion on someone who doesn't want one is bad, but feel the consequences for an unprepared parent is worse.

Nope have not made a Stromboli before, but does that mean you have to decide how much you're going to eat then portion the pizza dough appropriately so you fold it to form a breakfast sized package?

How do you know if the inside of the stromboli is cooked? With cakes you can stick a toothpick in to see if it comes out clean, for pizza dough since it's that thin you can visually see it, but for a stromboli?

Mort:
I don't agree, but do understand.

Let's take it to PMs, folks.

Mort, on a stromboli, the slits that you cut in the top separate when the crust is finished. As for the filling, use an oven thermometer to see if the inside is at an adequately high temperature.

Strombolis are awesome.

There's a local pizza place, luckily on the exact opposite side of Dallas from me (so about a 45-minute drive) that does an incredible two-person stromboli that is about three days worth of calories and a massive coronary in a crispy, steamy, perfect package.

Nope nope nope nope nope not gonna do it.

I don't have an oven thermometer - usually I precook ingredients before stacking them on the pizza. That was because once I had a case of pizza dough not cooked after I added a whole lot of cheese on the cheesa.

The Exchange

Sitting around toasting tau kwa to start dribbling Thai sweet chilli sauce over.

I saw someone favorited your initial response to me Mort and I was like, wow, really? But then I looked at the spoiled part and saw you rewrote and expanded it, lol. Oh ok, that changes the whole conversation, and yes as one last response to one of the new parts, a women's shelter would have been a fine option.

That's okay. The meat fillings are usually cooked beforehand, anyway.

Been watching Arrested Development with my ex-wife recently, it's a super funny show but so, so awkward and filled with misunderstandings, I literally wince sometimes when watching it.

I had to do research how the stuff was handled in States, and it may not be a representative of your state either(since I am unsure on which state you're in). I know SG has something of those sorts, but I also know that not every country in the world has that.

Oh, I also can't figure a method of opening the World Builder in Civ:BE, either. So, there's that.

Pretty good.

We had a fantastic spring break, and we got a last minute visit with my brother-in-law and his wife, which is always great!

Also, really busy. And sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy!

If anyone has sweet thai chilli sauce, and tau kwa, I recommend you toasting the tau kwa for 15 min on each side, then rubbing the sweet thai chilli sauce over. Slurp!

I am intrigued. I'm still unsure of when I'm going to do my road trip vacation to The West (I can't believe I'm thinking this, but maybe August or September), but I might have to put that on the list of things to do.
