good morning FaWtL

Scarab Sages

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Much happier Tuesday! Supposed to go get a Fit to Work evaluation today, but I noticed the health facility seems to have not sent the required paperwork.

Scarab Sages

Yesterday it was HUET - Helicopter Underwater Escape Training. I was....interesting. Especially the simulator. All that chlorinated water was great for clearing out the old sinuses.

Scarab Sages

The best part was being flipped upside down in the simulator. Three times.

There was one dude that didn't even know how to swim. He did ok, but the instructors suggested he go take some swimming lessons before he actually starts working on a rig.

Anyway, gotta work. Later folks.

Some days I wonder why I'm allowed to drive to work, out of concern for the safety of others and knowing my own inability to be fully awake until about 10 AM.

Then I remember how nearly everyone else drives and shrug and get on with my day.

For some reason, I've felt really sleepy this week...

Why would he want to assassinate Seal? Does he not like his music?

Meh, I need to shake off this writer block somehow.

I feel you. Try having writers block in the middle of choreographing a fight scene. ;P

On the other hand, nothing like having a sword swinging at you to get the old creative juices flowing! :)

So our $1100 car repair bill turned into $475 using a friendly shade-tree mechanic neighbor.

that's good news.

Well, earned a 90.00 dollar kickback from Club Hustler early this morning then crashed at the cab yard's office. Got suspended for two days for running a red light nine days ago.

WTF!

So I'm off for 4 days. Time to put in a few more job applications.

that's awful news.

Ugh. I'm in a really bad pickle right now. The newest windows 7 update really screwed my computer so I can't use it anymore, unless I get my hands on a win7 install cd (although I do get one on sunday) so I can repair the damage. But sunday is far away and I need a working computer fast

Wow. That is not good.

Do you know what it did to your PC? Or which update it was?

I run Win7 on my laptop, and I do NOT want it messing it up!
(Stoopid auto-updates)
;P

I'm still employed, just skating on thin ice again.

It's for if I have to go out on an oil rig. This is some of the standard training for that kind of travel. All part of the glory of working in the oil and gas arena.

The training certifies you for about 4 years.

And today was health assessment day. I've been at a medical office for the last 2+ hours: blood work, eye and ear tests, ECG, pee test, breathing test.....

Now I'm just waiting on my coworkers to finish so we can head back to the office.

You should be able to run it in safe mode without the install disk and be able to use System Restore function to return the system to state from before update.

Hum-hum-de-hum... How was safe mode entered?

It's Holding F8 during start-up.

Hold CTRL, or press F8 a few times.

Bbbbrrrraaaaaaaiiiinnnssssssss.....

Or keep a linux live cd around.

Got to add some fun color to my hair today. I've been working on bleaching out the old box color for the last year and I finally got to do what I actually wanted with it. :)

The kidlet approves of the idea of brightly colored hair, but thinks I should have done green instead. :P

Heard back from the latest interview.

I need to make a Scintzilla alias one of these days.

I take it that means it didn't go well? Sorry. :(

It went really well!

It just went better for the guy they hired.
